That's what we ended up doing. It was an awesome day. Not a cloud in the sky, mid 30s. I'm not sure how the crowds normally are on a Saturday but we waited maybe 5 mins maximum in the lift line, other than that we went straight to a chair. Maybe the Seattle game had something to do with it.

If you get up to Midway and stay on the upper part of the mountain you can avoid most of the wait times. It's when you take the top to bottom burners and have to start at the bottom again, the waits get longer. Also as more and more people trickle in working their way up the mountain, you can see the lines get longer Infront of your eyes.

Seahawks days and then a non-powder day keep the crowds away at most of our resorts.

but yeah for the most part keep out of the base area at all the resorts and youll avoid most of the crowds. Crystal that means staying up higher, Stevens go to the backside, ect.

Glad you guys had fun though!

Staying away from the base is a given at any resort haha. But even we broke for lunch there wasn't long lines at at by lift.

All in all like I said it was an awesome day!
We'll have to plan a mini meet to get more up

I will be in the gondola lift line by about 8 or so. I wouldn't bother with the chili, as will only ski till a bit after 12. Look like it will just be me and maybe 2 of my non TW friends so far.

After just now looking at the mountain forecast for today, I'll be making a trip for some laps at Snoqualmie tonight after work.

Pass closed twice in the last 6 hours. Just closed it 10min ago both directions. Didn't make it, and now they're saying no estimate for reopening.

The backcountry is the last place I would want to be right now. Stevens has had a couple small slabs let loose inbounds and in the slackcountry (sidecountry...whatever).

And why does I-90 seem to close whenever there is anything more than 2" of snow

And deadly if caught in it. The stuff at Stevens was letting go at the rain layer which is like 3-4 feet down. Thats a lot of snow :(

That's the shitty thing when the first important layer of snowpack is just shit, it will continue to be shit since nothing will bind to it and will overshadow the conditions all season long.

Hell a slab let loose in Campbell basin at crystal and took out the Campbell chair. That was supposed to be a controlled slide since they did it before conditions warranted.

I got stuck .5mi from exit 34 when they closed it last night. Sat for an hour and a half with some hope, but gave up around 630. Going to go for it again tonight.

Terrible time to be in the backcountry given the recent storms. Storm + wind slabs would be the biggest concern now. I was having some small reactions in Northway on Sunday due to the recent snow.

That slab that took out Chair 6 at Crystal was a controlled avalanche (and years ago), although the word on the hill is that they used more TNT than necessary...
