    My roommate in the Air Force played in the NATO championships a few times. The Germans usually won the first thru fifth or sixth spots. He was usually right behind them.

    We were roommates at George Air Force Base for over two years. I never beat him in a chess game and he would remove his knights and Queen before we started the game.
