Old thread, but just did this today and so far so good! The guy who sold me the truck said "It makes a noise on low, but never bothered me" It drove me crazy the whole way home, so it was a must.

Can you give us an update now after a few months installed? Interested in the Four Seasons one as well.

Mine is still good. A little noise, but nothing compared to what was there. It is more of the blower sound, than a chirp that makes the noise now. Nothing unbearable.

No real issue so far; noise levels haven't changed. And the truck has seen off-road use too.

What does this chirp sound like, mine is making a ticking noise, like a card in the spokes sound, I actually bought a replacement fan but when I pulled the assembly out I ran it to see if it would make the noise, nothing, so I returned the fan, makes it when installed though. Seems to be worse the colder it is out.

Seems to have started when I replaced the filter over the summer so I thought it might have been that, but have since replaced the filter again, same issue.

The issue is how the circular fan blades sit on the motor. There is room for movement, as well as mild adjustment, of this fan blade. This design is what creates all the odd noises we have experienced. Your ticking noise is the same as our "chirp". And yes, I had the same issue as you of removing the fan and not duplicating the same noise as when it was installed.

My solution was the $40 fan replacement, and I plan to do the same in the future when the noise returns.

Good to know, should have just replaced the fan when I had the part, but I returned it to justify buying Husky Weatherbeaters. Will just order a new fan, which one did you go with, I had previously ordered from Amazon.

Thanks, is it much louder than the stock one?

No, this is the one mentioned a few posts back. It's a noticeable fan noise, but it's more of a swirling of air movement and not a tick/chirp like the factory fan.

Ordered one off Amazon for $40 with free shipping, I'd rather listen to a loud fan than the chirping, been driving me nuts. For $40 I figured I can't lose, just wish I never returned it in the first place.

Oh, you have been listening to yours for years........get a new fan, $40 and 3 screws, hardest part for me was getting the wiring harness unplugged, otherwise it would have taken me 20 minutes to do at most.

I had the window cowl leak in a torential rain one time and the blower motor got filled with water. Took it apart and greased it when i put it back together. It has squeaked ever since

Plenty out there for cheap, the one I posted on Amazon, Rock Auto has one for a similar price, hell even if thing starts chirping again in a year its worth the $40 to replace simply for my sanity's sake.
