No I completely agree and the time to get the loaner was way to long. I have a commuter car luckily so I wasn't driving the uninspected truck at the time. If I was I would have been calling daily for a loaner. I let them off easy honestly.

Did you get that in writing, because I haven't heard anyone from the USA, getting a warranty for 15 years?

I've seen others on site that have mentioned the same. I believe that's what made me press the issue.
Nothing in writing yet Robert my claims guy will be in touch with me Toyota care told me this when I called it was after hrs.
But this is the third time I've called and asked the result of my claim and have got the same answer.
I don't give them any info other than claim and name.
We shall see. If I thought is was not covered it would be gone. Buddy's tundra failed state inspection 2 yrs after the crc job. Toyota patched it?
    The crc is no fix.

Does anybody have the procedures they are supposed to do when they do the crc rust product , what they are to spray and scrape and what they are to remove from the truck before they do it. Thanks.

I had mine done I can flick chunks of rust of the frame that has been coated. The engine frame mounts have not been sprayed or cleaned.
I need the procedures they are to do.
    Thanks.

When mine was done, I was told by the dealer they would remove the box and wire wheel all offensive spots/ cleaning the rest. They also said it would be 2-3 days. And would inspect again before coating.
This was at the beginning of the campaign.
Went in 7/15 box was not removed, not sure if it was even cleaned. I kept it clean and coated
since I got it in 2011.
Returned to me that same day.
    Dripped for another 3 days.
Not sure what is supposed to get coated and what does not?
The guy who did mine tried I give him that.
The top of frame under the bed was not coated, one of the coils was the other not etc. But you can only do so much without covering everything in it and in that time.

I belive the dealership was using a sub contractor to do the work, others must be doing the same?

I don't know the procedure for that particular product but it appears to be a waxy self healing protectant/sealer and not a rust neutralizer. Therefore the proper procedure would always start with "remove all loose rust and scale". That would require mechanical abrasion (media blast, grinding, sanding, wire wheel, etc) followed by application of phosphoric acid.

My was done with in 3 hours. They had the truck for 2 days I work across from where the sub contract them to be done. They hold me when I first went in the the rear bumper and spare tire had to be removed. There is no way they removed the rear bumper. Where your front engine mounts coated. There for sure was no rust removal on the frame I can pick off chucks of rust that are coated. Rust has leached through the coating. Not happy. I am sure they did not even wash the salt of the frame before coating. They did not have it long enough for it to dry before coating.

Has anyone heard or gotten any new information about the class action lawsuit other than the little post card they sent out a couple of weeks ago?

Hey, heads up January 31st 2019 is the extended deadline for this campaign.
Check with your dealer for 2005-2010 Tacomas.

"The coverage offers the latter of 12 years from the Date of First Use (DOFU) or January 31, 2019"

Just got my 05 Sequoia done and the CRC looks really effective, a gooey tar like coating, relieving my worries of salt corrosion. (My Sequoia was from Maryland and frame was pretty nice still)

Don’t kid yourself. The CRC is junk! Had my Tacoma done 2 years ago, it flaked of in 6-8 months and ended with a frame swap last spring.
Lesson: Keep a eye on it!

So my 2010 is covered until 2022 but a 2005 would need to be inspected by the new January 3, 2019 deadline correct?

I got a letter this week telling me that the frame warranty extended to 10 years from DOFU or 1/31/2019. My frame has already been inspected and treated with CRC earlier this year (2018). I'll make sure to get the frame inspected every year until the warranty expires in 2022.

Agreed with other posters. My frame was coated in 2016, and in less than a year there was nothing left of the CRC, just flaking rust.

Definitely keep an eye on it.

Was your coating like a rust converter that was dry to touch? I have seen frames coated with that and I agree it looked poor and not durable. I'll try to get a picture and post this gooey stufff

From what I can remember it had almost a rubbery texture. There isn't much left of it now. I'm just waiting on my frame replacement.

Anyone recently here have there frame replaced? If so how long did it take for Toyota to approve your new frame?

Just had the dealer last week look at the frame and found a hole, still waiting to hear back from them about the approval.
