    Hello Northern California

I used to work for Grand Prix motorcycle shop. They're great people and it's an enjoyable place to be, feels like a big family.
Long story short, they need a guy or gal to work the parts counter. I don't work there anymore (I used to be the parts manager), haven't for a few years, but am still close with everyone there.

Grand Prix is located in Santa Clara, 95050 on the corner of San Tomas and El Camino Real.

Some of the responsibilities you'll have day to day:
    Helping customers
    Stocking parts
    Answering phone calls
Sorting parts for stock vs special order
    Calling customers for special orders
Keeping the shelves stocked and properly aligned
    Keeping the parts department clean
As I mentioned it's like a family, you'll also help sales and service when needed.
(There is more, but this is the normal day to day)

If you have a motorcycle background and know your way around a bike, gear and the accessories to outfit new and experienced riders please let me know and I can get you in touch with the manager.

Being customer facing work you need to be presentable and level headed. Most all of the customers that come in are regulars or normal but every now and again you'll have someone less easy to deal with. Please be a respectful human.

I don't work here anymore, but I still feel like family with everyone there. This was by far and away my favorite job over the years. The owner, managers and employees are all genuinely good people and once you get to know them are more than willing to help you out when you need it.

If you have any questions let me know

Wait. Were you the owner of the red DCSB that always parked in the *$ parking lot?

Too funny. I've been in GP a few times for parts but I'm all out of Yamaha.

    Good luck.

I also live around the corner (well, behind Zoom) and since they put the Poke place in next to GP...lol.

Barely. I haven't talked to Dan in a while. He's closed on Mondays again. And since the boys left, it's pretty much swirling which is pretty sad.

That's a bummer. I used to go there when I was in high school.

I know. I did talk to John the other day. He tried to buy Dan out-which would have been good all around but didn't happen and he left. He's consolidated to half the space now and the place is devoid of anything new. If you want something he has to order, gotta pay up front-no refunds either. I stopped buying from him because I feel like he's on the verge of going out of business.

When I was still at Grand Prix most of our vendors stoped doing business with him. He just bought too much stuff that didn't sell, never returned it, and is now sitting on too much old stock that he can't get rid of.
I heard a lot of stories from ex employees, but none good.

I'm friends with one of his old PU guys and I see Jack and Dave once a week-sadly, there is never any good news.

Just moved to that area, drive past the shop everyday. Sounds like a great opportunity if I wasn't so busy already! Hope they find someone decent.

Some really nice places in that neck of the woods, congratulations. El camino is a busy road, lots of traffic, it was a bit scary but exciting to watch the people buying new bikes who really shouldn't be riding a new bike try and merge onto El Camino. I witness so many tip over in the parking lot, tip over the moment they touched the road, one guy hit the center divider and one even rode down the sidewalk!
It's a great place to work and if you ride the discount really helps.
Thank you. Hopefully someone decent will get in there

OMG. Watching people new to riding buy 1000cc bikes is so hard.

It happens ALL THE TIME. I would always ask "Are you sure you don't want these frame sliders? We could have them installed while you finish the paperwork."
People love to learn the hard way.
