I used Herculiner on mine. Since I did it myself, it only cost me like $80 for 2 thick coats on sliders with fill plates and the primer. It holds up really well, is easy to touch up, and provides tons of grip due to the rubbery nature and texture in the material. Only downfall is that the silt and clay based soils stick to it like crazy and are virtually impossible to completely remove. There's always a slight layer of dust on the steps. It's a tradeoff I'm more than willing to make.

I love my relentless. I broke a set of trail gear before. Relentless only uses DOM tubing. Discount code mademan925 will help with the price too.

I used the Rustoleum Spray On Bedliner that you can get in the cans at Home Depot or Lowes. Its pretty durable and has some texture to it which its nice since it covers up if you've never painted before and do a shity job at it (like me) and provide some grip if they're wet. I wouldn't go with Rhino Liner or something like that personally because theres way too much texture in it. Here is a picture of my skid with it.

Cool. I got four cans of Rustoleum "Truck Bed Coating" spray (same thing?) thinking that would be good. Sounds like you're happy with the results... good to know. Thanks!

    (Thanks as well @Hammer16!)

Yeah those are the same thing. I used the Rustoleum self etching primer before. A piece of advice is that it comes out very fast and its easy to put it on way too thick.

x3 on bedliner. Mine are professionally Line-X'd (bought them off someone this way) and they're great. I love the look and roughness.

For So Cal, there's also Demello out in the I.E. If you can make the time to go to their shop, they'll even weld them on for you if you want/need.

I haven't really pushed mine to the limit yet, but they've always seemed solid enough.

Love the apex sliders, what style? Extreme? And is that powder coat gloss black? Thanks for posting your truck.

Thanks! These are the APEX sliders (APEX is extreme duty). They are painted with three coats of black and 3 coats of clear. (painted with a full on auto body sprayer, not spray paint). It's been over a year and they're holding up still. I went with these cause of the DOM tubing. They're extremely strong and will support the full weight of the truck.

Thanks for the info, so you just got them in raw color and painted them at a body shop. Correct if I'm wrong, do they make aluminum ones? I thought I saw a truck on here with aluminum. I want ones just like yours. Putting on MGM off road. Thanks

Yeah I received them raw and painted them. I don't think aluminum is strong enough to act as rock sliders... I've seen steps that kinda look like rock sliders that are made of aluminum, but they will probably collapse like a Coke can if you set your truck on a rock with them.

Mobtown has a group buy going on right now (25% off). I've read many reviews and it seems there are quite a few great contenders regarding sliders. The thing that really makes @Mobtown Offroad stick out for me is that no drilling is required. I think every other slider requires one hole to be made on each side. It's not a big deal but when I purchase a bolt-on, I want it to be a true bolt-on that is strong enough to support the full weight of the truck. I also like some of the engineering behind their sliders such as the extra support at the back of the slider as well as the pinch bolts they utilize to give the slider extra squeeze and support. Good stuff. Don't own them yet, but I've placed my order.

I've caught a tree stump in my slider. Had to jack it up and pile under the tire to get out.
    Fill plates would've stopped that.

It makes it WAY easier. Also drill with a step bit like the one on the left, not a normal bit. It goes through the frame like butter.

I call those uni-bits. They work well. However, the ones with only one cutting edge, not so much. Lenox brand have 2 cutting edges and last much longer.
