I say agree firm yes, increases torque. But I already had exhaust on my truck so I can't say for a stock truck but I think it will help. It will also start to lean out the F/A ratio... I believe the stock computer only adjust a small amount so if you put on the spacer, intake and exhaust you will be running a lot leaner than stock so you can gain and loose at the same time. You also have to reset the computer after mods to feel the full effect faster.

are u verifying this thru a gauge, or is someone else proving the lean AFR?

    Just curious

I don't have a gauge yet just using 20 years experience of tuning...
And my mpg went up from 17 to 19.8 until the computer added more fuel and it went to 18.8, so a 1.8 mpg change from adding the exhaust and intake.. It was running better but felt weak, that means it lean... Added the maf cal and that did the trick runs great, 0 to 60 went from 8.1 to 7.2 and tows great and stopped the exhaust drone while towing..... But mpg went down to 16 so I'm trying to make a compromise map that can still get better mpg at part throttle and maintain power when I'm on it..... but so far mpg is a inverse relationship to power so I'm making changes slowly...

So I thought it was lean and by added the maf cal I could easily prove it was lean because adding fuel made it run much better but then the mpg goes down...
I think the computer is very limited on how much it can change the fuel, I think it only has a small window to work with... The computer is suppose to be able to maintain 14.5 with production variances, wear over time and weather conditions, I don't think this is true, people are getting from 20 to 16 mpg I was getting 17.1 driving like an old man or running at 80 with 32s.... that is why people are getting different results with the same mods because every ones f/a ratio is different and the f/a ratio can change the "feel" a lot...

It doesn't take much adjustment with the maf cal to get it right 10 is neutral and my highest point is 10.8... I'm guessing I'm around 12 to 1. I had to lean out open loop and enrich closed loop. It even idled better on the first start up...

    None yet. Soon to come.
Huh. So takeaway being we don't really have dyno numbers and one dude on like page 15 said it sucked, but the overall consensus is it helps, if even only a little, so it's just a matter of how much money you are willing to spend for how little potential gain. Interesting. I'll add it to the long list. Towards the bottom but on the list!

Im used to mine now that I forget its there. But when I first installed it, I noticed a huge improvement in acceleration. Low end power/torque is where it is really noticeable. Don't have to give it as much throttle to get going pretty quick.

But like I said, Im soo used to it now that I forgot what it was like without it. lol

So after about a year later. I finally installed this and feel a power increase. It feels like some more torque. I think it's worth the price.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that on the automatic the higher power number was made at 2:28 PM and the lower was at 3:41 PM the same day?

I haven't read the whole thread to know what order they did the test in, but I would think a baseline would come first, then bolt on the new part. Like I said, I don't know and don't want to try to disprove anyone, I'm just asking the question.

I would have to look at everything again to remember exactly what we did, but because we had such limited time at the dyno shop as we were paying per hour. We prior to arriving at the shop installed a spacer on one of the trucks while the other did not have a spacer. That way while one truck was on the Dyno, we were either installing or uninstalling the part on the other one so that we could switch back and forth easily. Basically run 1 on one truck had a spacer, and run 1 on the other truck had no spacer. So run 2 on one truck had no spacer and run 2 on the other truck had a spacer. Hopefully that makes sense. ( it was also done that way because one of the guys bought the spacer from me so he wanted to drive home with it installed on his truck, the other guy was not purchasing one but just testing and that's why we had it on his truck to begin with so that the second run we took it off ) Bottom line was both trucks saw a power and torque increase

Would this work with a TRD supercharger? Does it change or add sound?

It makes the intake runner longer, I don't know if you will need it with a supercharger...
It could add more torque but raises the intake / supercharger so I don't know how it would effect belt length....

Why does the automatic see a better gain that the manual?

Was everything on these trucks bone stock other than the spacer? 12hp and 20+tq for $265 sounds too good to be true..

Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
trd SC belt wont fit (but urd prolly wont have an issue) been discussed somewhere (may not have room under the hood too I think) and I think the manuals couldn't lock out a gear low enough to do a pull where the gains are most noticeable or something like that.

Did u guys thought about making it out of thermal plastic or something to prevent or delay upper intake thermal soak?

My offer still stands. Anyone want to dyno test this on their truck on the URD Dyno in Owings MD, contact me at URD to set it up.
