    Hi to all.

    I have a 2010 toyota Hilux/Tacoma 2.7l which my friends and I have turbo'd.
What I am after at the moment is information on whether it is safe to disconnect the variable valve timing. I am aware there is a locking pin that is used to keep oil pressure for start-up. I'm curious whether disconnecting the vvt-i will cause any issues with this or any harm to the engine. Hopefully someone on here knows more on this than I.

Oh wow, that's really unique. Love it. I was expecting to see a double cab and slightly different design of Hilux. Have never seen that front end, unless it's the grill that's throwing me off.

The grill is aftermarket. Aswell as the Nudge Bar. In Australia this style we call Cab-chassis, or tray back ute.

Isn't a Hilux quite different than a Tacoma?
Different body, different engine (?) and overall a smaller, lighter truck?

First, what is he reasoning behind wanting to "disconnect the VVT-I"?

Second, pictures of the choo choo maker.

I have my VVT-I locked out. Once you define what you are trying to achieve, I'll be able to clarify potential happenings.

The Tacoma and Hilux both share the 2TR-FE motor However the bodies and overall size are different.
