I want to go to Moab so bad. Just not sure if my rig is the type that would be great there. With little armor on the front end and no locker, I'm worried I'll be SOL. It will all depend on if I move to the east coast this year though. I'd have fun at RT even if I just camped and rode in one of the big boys trucks haha

There are easy enough trails there that you'd be fine on and be able to have fun. And if you wanna go on harder trails ride in someone's else's truck

Looking into it! If Lindsay and I move, we will be roadtripping to South Carolina through Utah, Denver, Dallas, New Orleans, and my personal favorite, Atlanta! I'm gonna see if I can tow her car on a flatbed the whole way. Probably gonna try to regear before that...

Trying to think how heavy a new civic on a flatbed would be. Car is only like 1800. Towing it like 3000 miles though.

Looks like a flatbed from Uhaul is only 1000 pounds. That makes the car/trailer combo well under my 5000 pound rating. Also only 500 bucks to rent for that long. Pretty sweet.

That's awesome man! Not bad at all. Your runner would handle that no problem!

How heavy is your trailer going to be when done?

It weighed 960 lbs when I bought it. I've probably added 100 lbs in tires, 50 lbs in wheels, and maybe another 200 lbs in other stuff. So I'm around 1250lbs right now. I don't plan on adding much more weight to the trailer itself so it should be around that weight. With added camping gear when we're hauling stuff probably another 300 lbs. so it'll be around 1500-1600 lbs max while we're driving.

Dude I'd be stoked! Atlanta is 1.5 hours from Atlanta! Plus like 1/2 the cost of living.

You don't have to do the gnarly trails. Lots of people just camp and keep it light. I imagine there will even be a few 2WD there.

Doing Utah border to border if you wanna come. Will be a weeklong trip, probably hitting Moab as well- but only the easy trails since we'll be at full expo weight this trip and can't afford to tip halfway through lol.

    Moab
    Canyonlands/White Rim
    Bear's Ears
    Bryce
    etc.
