Negative offset moves the center line towards the inboard side of the rim, moving your tires further out, so you have it right. 2016-17 Tacos Come with a factory offset of 25mm. Moving lowering the number from there would just move the tires further out, further from the UCA.

I'm putting 0 offset 4.5" backspace 17" Pro Comp wheels with 285/70 Toyo's on my 2017 in a few weeks. I'll respond here and other places with how much, if any trimming i had to do.

I put 285/75/16 on SCS SR8s today with an approximate 2" lift (Bilsteins on the 4th notch with a 1/4 spacer on top), Icon progessive AAL and have zero rub even at full lock in reverse. That's pre-alignment too. -12 offset, 4" backspace. Hope that helps.

That is great to know. Do you have a picture of the stance with that setup? I'm going to only be around 1 1/2" in the front but I have a little more offset. Hopefully I'm good but I'm worried that I may need a CMC because of the wider stance. Time will tell.

So I had extensive rubbing with 285/70R17 with zero offset 8" wide rims. No Lift. I required a CMC. However with the CMC I can say that I will not have rubbing at all anywhere, even at full stuff.

Maybe you guys can help me. Got an 07 taco with OME lift(885 coils and nitrochargers shocks dakars leafs) and SPC uca. Currently running 265/70/17 now. Got a set of wheels that are 17"x9" -12 offset. They rubbed like crazy before the lift. I assume they wont now since i got the lift on? And would they rub if i put 285/70/17 on?

Really hard to say without trying it. Worst case, they rub the cab mount and you need a CMC. The fenders can be easily pushed back with a heat gun.

My best guess after doing mine is that you wouldn't rub with 33"s and a -12 offset with a lift for daily driving. You'd be closer to the UCA than I am, but the lower pivot point should mean that a 33 will clear the cab mount by a little more. Again this is a guess only.

Another way to look at is that if they rub before a lift, they probably will rub after a lift at full stuff. This is why serious off road guys typically always do CMC even with 33's and a lift. IF they stuff the wheel and turn it towards the cab mount it probably will rub even with a lift. But for daily driving on pavement, they would never hit. I'm doing the CMC today actually so that my 33's wont rub at all with stock suspension. That way I know i'll always be good, unless I go Long travel (someday)

found this thread hiding on google. are there any low cost wheels that will fit? i have a "leveling kit" and 285-75/16s with good tread that i'd like to move onto new rims. but i really want steels for their low cost and i just like the way they look. i'm still using stock wheels and the used lot i got the truck from threw on some of those cheap wheel spacers from auto-bone. they also installed the "leveling kit" before i bought it so i have no idea what exactly it is.

I know that there are some TRD wheels that have the perfect for 33" tire.

I have 265/70/16 which is stock tire size. Rims Ray 10s -12 offset . I recently just did 1 in leveling kit in front to get rid of some factory rake. Can anyone help out, I want to go up to 265/75/16 tire, pretty confident it wont rub. Any thoughts before I purchase. Greatly appreciate any feedback.
