Holy cow your lights are awesome! But I rarely drive at night so I can't justify it. Based on the housings you use I need to find myself some non-projector TYCs, or Depos.

    Thanks, this forum is awesome!

I did use the search, but most of the info was years old and I thought/hoped Spyder had a better product now.

Forever crappy unfortunately. There's a lot of DYI options or several lighting vendors that can help you out. :)

Make sure you aim them or you may still have poor visibility.

No, new headlights are not "aimed".... simply put, they cant be aimed correctly at a plant even if they did have a jig, and hiked up the cost due to the time needed to do it.

The same headlights work on the x runner (truck sits very low from factory), the 5 lug tacomas (lower than 6 lugs stock), and they also fit the 4wd/prerunner which sit higher.
Cant aim 1 set of lights for atleast 3 different stock ride heights.

Always re aim after a lift as well.

Thanks for the pointer...I've got 7.25" of lift over stock from axle to fender, so I knew I'd have some/a lot of adjustment.

So do any of you guys that are bashing these lights actually have them???

I do and they work great. Light output with the bulbs they came with was not great but I upgraded to HIDs and im very happy with the results.

I did have to modify the cutoff plate when I put the HIDs in. The plates have a half circle cut out in them for some reason which would let light above the cutoff line, I just covered it with a piece of aluminum.

After seeing multiple multiple reviews on here, nope. I didnt need to spend money on them. Ive seen the pics to backup the poor optics, and leaking.
If thats bashing, well i dunno what to say.

Actually ur post gives me more reason not to buy them lol.

Oem takeoffs work as is.... no mod needed.

I know I got a 12' second gen, but I got some spyder lights are similar to the ones the OP is talking about.

    https://www.pinterest.com/pin/439241769888809711/

They didn't have any leaks to them, but the projectors in them were about half the light output as the stock halogen OEM ones. I retro'ed these myself as I wanted to build them up to how I wanted with a different look from the stockers. I would assume the lights in question are pretty similar in results. I agree that not all lights on ebay are shit, but in the lighting world you def get what you pay for. CAUTION: Cheap projectors DO EXIST!
