    For new page

    Updated TRD radiator cap PSA:
There are 3 different caps offered (not including stock). These will correspond to radiator size and shape of radiator cap.

The stock Tacoma radiator cap is rated at about 13 psi (0.9 Bar and/or kg/cm2). With the upgrade of a TRD cap it will raise the boiling point of your coolant by keeping the coolant at a higher pressure. Note PTR04-00000-01. Upgrading will further benefit hotter climates and force injected (supercharged/turbocharged)

    Part # PTR04-00000-01 Type S (8.5 psi) [Confirmed 5VZ 4x4/Prerunner height]
    Part # PTR04-00000-02 Type S (21.3 psi) [Confirmed 5VZ 4x4/Prerunner height]
    Part # PTR04-00000-03 Type N (18.5 psi) [Unconfirmed configuration]

    S type is rated at 8.5 psi (0.5 kg/cm2) and 21.3 psi (1.5 kg/cm2) these replace 1st gen OEM # 16401-0C010.
N type is the more modern type for 2nd/3rd gen Tacomas which is rated at 18.5 psi (1.3 kg/cm2) <- units in parentheses are important to note as it's labeled on the cap.

I mean like everything black lol I love your seats though. Don't think black seats would look good with the tan interior. Maybe with the grey

@COMAtized99 if you ever get the chance I'd like some more in depth insight about the multimode tcase.

Just regarding the wiring. Because of the 4hi unlocked how exactly is it wired up?

So, like I stated in the other thread, to the best of my knowledge the 99-02 4runner limited transfer case is all the same. I believe that the 01-02 4runner may all have the multi mode case, but I'm not 100% on that. For sure the limiteds.

The 99-00 tcase have a "j-shift" pattern and the 01-02 have the forward and back H- N-L w/ push bottom 4wd, and a CDL switch on the dash.

My main area of "experience" is the 99-00. This is the version I have. I used the matching ECU to run it. I am using a pair of relays to run the electric ADD motor. Toyota used the vacuum through 00 and switched to the electric motor 01.

With the 99-00 when you pull the lever back into 4wd, all you are doing is activating a switch. The CDL switch to be exact. The ECU actually controls 4wd. You have mechanical control over H-N-L.

I was looking at the 99-00 as well. From what I read 5 speeds have a bit more modding to do. Aren't you a manual?
Mines an auto so I was hoping I wouldn't have to switch ECUs or anything. How about the 4wd computer?

Sweet. I'd still have to order the part though, I was just curious if it's something you could do later on.

I was a manual. But I didn't have the tcase installed. Now I'm running a 5speed auto (a750f). As far as I know, all a340 and r150 tcases are interchangeable. The w59 uses a 26 spline input on the tcase so, it is not interchangeable.

As far as the cross member, I have no idea.... It's been a few years since I have had a stock drivetrain.

Thanks for the insight. I did a little bit more reading and I went from, ok we can do this, to its not worth it, to jackpot we in business.

How did you manage to put a 750 in? I would love to have another gear.

I'm running an 04 4runner v8 drivetrain. (Engine/transmission/ECU&harness). A small "adapter" was made to make up for two mounting holes that didn't line up.

I know Rob (Singtoe) I visited him and saw his 4runner while I was working on my Tacoma the first time. The original tcase from his 99 limited 4runner is the one living in my Tacoma now
