We had a meeting today and there were some packages to open for the presentation. They were hard to open so someone said: "We need a knife" and immediately 12 coworkers all immediately looked at me. I don't know why (sarcasm)...Well okay, I had 3 knives with me so we were able to make short work of opening the packages, and we had a good laugh.

Just picked up a CIMA-1 to play around and see if I'd like an esee or rat. Was actually surprised with the quality/feel of the knife for $18. We'll see how steel holds up....

Now before you sharp eye whippersnappers say "hey, that one sez Buck" - Yep, it sure does, both were Buck knife blanks. CSB - my dad was QC on the Tomcat cannon frame. They had a lot of issues with warping during the heat treat process. You don't want to have a warped cannon frame on a fighter. He was transporting them one at a time from San Diego to LA in a station wagon and supervising the process. Now a heat treat building is damn hot place and they run giant fans to draw in air to cool down the building. This place was in a city named Vernon. Vernon is mostly famous for meat packing plants and the left overs are rendered for fat, there was a rendering place down wind. Imagine superheated heated animal waste odor. This plant had the contact to heat treat Buck knife blanks - lost it do to the excessive product losses. As a gift dad got 10 blanks, gave me three.

Love it. I always have a knife on me and my friends know it. Being a knife snob I use my Benchmade 940 for everything. But I carry another knife too that gets no use. I just love blades.

Just re-ordered my Benchmade. Haven't had one in a few years. Pocket needs some better steel in it.

Just found this thread, not to late to jump in I hope?

9-5 I am "Business Casual" so my EDC is an assisted opening "Mini Barrage" perfect for my situation, wouldn't change a thing.

Most weekends or when I'm doing my Army (Reserve) thing I up it to this BM (Adams something I think it is called?)

If clothing is right and I'm feeling gangster, I cary this (Probably would cary it more if I had a more belt friendly sheath, sooner or later). It's a "Ringmaster" in tool steel with "Relic" finish, made by Liontribe Designs Liontribe Designs | Facebook His stuff is pretty bad ass and you can tell it will outlast us all.

Also, if your trying to get your knife(s) sharpened send it to this guy: Seattle Edge - Welcome Pretty reasonable $ and a few weeks turn around via mail. Warning, when I say sharp, I mean sharp as shit. I mean I saw a spec of corrosion on the edge of my Ringmaster and thought "Hey, I'll fold the bottom edge of my t-shirt over 3-4 times and wipe it off..." Wrong! Instantly cut thru 4 layers of t-shirt and into my thumb :annoyed: so be warned.

I just ordered a custom mini-barrage this week with the better steel and the G10 handle. Blade, handle and apex all in black. Can't wait for it to get made and shipped. I've been carrying the mini-griptillian for probably 15 years now, thought I would try something new but wanted to stay with Benchmade.

I loved my first one, ... RIP

I forget which handle I got, I'd have to pull the order. I'll post pics when it gets here, I did the custom again. Discounted too, wasn't expecting that!

I really like how you can use the blades without opening the pliers.

Blade HQ has no issues with it. If you're in a state where they're completely banned that might be an issue. We can carry them with a ccw (and maybe without now that we're constitutional carry) so most places will ship to MO. Have had my eye on an Ultratech for a while now...

about 9 months ago, i needed a bottle opener at a picnic. i went thru my box of junk and popped a ALOX soldier into my pocket. i had zero love for that knife. you know what? that thing never left my EDC rotation. that is all i carry!! i've even opened a can with that thing. i sucked at it, but i got the can opened without cutting myself. the bottle opener rocks. the knife gets like a scalpel. i dont use the punch thing much except to open boxes. the screwdrivers have saved my ass daily. popping open paint cans..pop!!

my soldier is older, so it is worth more money..and i thought i lost it. vacuuming my wife's car today..EUREKA!! i found it!! bonus, i ordered an ALOX farmer already. cheap cheap cheap on Amazon..and it is just like my soldier except add a saw.

i have a bunch of benchmades. i got tired of tearing up my pockets with the clip, plus most of the time, i just need a bottle opener..or a flat screwdriver. i have gutted so many bunnies and quail with the ALOX now..it is my perfect EDC. i am a field civil engineer. i get dirty.

^^^ that is a clean Buck 110. i put a micro bevel on my edge and it is damn frightening. i found a broken 112 and sent it back for a new blade..i cant wait to try to gut a deer with it. tradition backing me up.
