@NYCO I just wanted to confirm that the airflow will work with the afe cold air intake.

Assuming you are referring to the closed box version of the AFE, I am sure an adapter could be made to join the 2 pieces. I know @NYCO went back to the factory intake line when he installed his Airflow.

Did he ever have the AFE box installed or only the AFE filter

He had a cold air intake but it was a different one. I want to say it was Volant maybe? But when he got the snorkel it was installed with the stock plumbing. He is now running an AFE Pro Dry filter in the stock box.

Do you know his reason for removing g his aftermarket Cold air intake? Woukd it just not line up holes? It almost looks like I can make the AFE cold air box work with the snorkel, but I'm not sure if that would be good or bad for performance

I'm curious if there will be any benefits to have the AFE cold air intake and the snorkel. Or if it will be worse then just the snorkel itself

The CAI system he ran would not work with the snorkel at all. Also one of the points of a snorkel is to run a sealed system that does not allow water in. How sealed are those CAIs at the filter point?

I'm running an airflow snorkel and the afe stage II CAI. The issue is that the airbox has a square outwards spot to get air, while the factory/snorkel spot that mates up to it is circular. I haven't tried to fix this issue yet personally. Its close enough where most of the air is still coming from the snorkel but its NOT a sealed system anymore. I think I could fix this with a little duct tape for quick and easy or maybe some fiberglass or similar apparatus for a more professional look.

To those trying to run the AFE with the snorkel, might just be easier to go to stock. Im in the same boat.. And going to ditch my AFE for stock, and run the snorkel. For something like this, I want to make sure its all made for each other and fits correctly.

It is tempting tho to try and make it work, just not sure if its worth it.

Anyone have any issues taking either of these through a drive through car wash? I'm leaning toward the Safari given the issues people are having with snow build-up in the Airflow.

No, I won't drive through a car wash in my truck but not because of the snorkel.

What snow issues? I've had mine on six winters now with no issues.

I won't put mine through and auto car wash with just the regular hood on it. Now that I have a top spin maybe but still to much other gear on my truck for and auto wash to break.

Massive revival but what size Donaldson did you use? I have dust issues with my truck already running a airflow but just got a new air box as dust was getting past the filter apparently. I'm gonna seal the shit out of the box but I figured more protection the better
