I might buy a 2016-2017 SR5 access cab 4x4 with 2.7L if the right one came along. My only reason for doing this would be because my 2010 has the 2.7L and I have been satisfied with it.

No, NEVER!!! No matter how old or rich I get, I'll always have a basic Tacoma in my garage. They are very handy to have around...

Is it as easy to put intermittent wipers in a base first gen as it is a base 2nd gen?

My uncle's 1990 Dodge Caravan with the RARE factory 5-speed manual transmission...

This van was a total basketcase, but it's rarity makes it cool! Two engines in a row blew up! It also did not have A/C. My uncle painted it orange and added the black wheels. He also spent more on the stereo system than he spent on the van itself!

He sold it back in like 2011, and replaced it with 1991 Toyota pickup that he taught me to drive stick in. The '91 Toyota pickup was sold and replaced with a 2011 Ford Ranger as the official shop truck; He sold the Ranger last year and presently there is no shop truck...

See that Alpine head unit? My uncle probably paid more whole stereo system (head unit, speakers) than he paid for the van; he also loved that head unit so much that he took it from the Ranger before he sold that...

In terms of reliability and overall quality, the Honda Ridgeline is a great vehicle. It is a Honda after all. It's biggest problem in my opinion is that it's trying to be something it's not. Most notably it has is unibody instead of body-on-frame. New 2016+ Ridgelines come standard with front-wheel drive instead of rear-wheel drive!

Note the truck in the middle left photo...

My mom had a 2004 Honda Odyssey EX, and I drove that when my Tacoma was either getting an oil change/inspection/routine maintenance or I had to transport a lot of friends (I have a 2nd gen regular cab) I had no shame driving my mom's van. It had a killer factory sound system and it wasn't playing pretend... I'd be embarrassed to pull up in front of the bar where I work in a Ridgeline. The van also worked better than my Tacoma for hauling stuff in the rain or snow, as I refuse to put a cap on my truck.

As for my truck, my friends and coworkers all respect the Tacoma. Some of them are even jealous of the Tacoma.

As I said in my other response... I was never embarrassed to drive my mom's actual minivan (hell, I MISS my mom's minivan, a Honda Odyssey)... But I would never buy a Ridgeline.

My claim to fame is this...

I really do not drink much. I'll have a few beers a week, and then I can go for days or even weeks without drinking. However, on weekends when I'm hanging out with friends and/or have a fat wallet, I still surprise some of my friends with how many drinks I can knock back in a short period of time. I once drank the equivalent of 6 shots of tequila (a flight), about a dozen beers, and a car bomb in one night and didn't have a hangover the next morning...

My cousin's wedding was the first wedding I'd been to since I was old enough to drink, and I got HAMMERED! For starters, the unwritten rule is that you are supposed to get drunk at weddings. I remember the night perfectly, believe it or not, and not only do the pictures prove I was the life of the party, but my cousin whose wedding it was said that I was one of the best-behaved guests there...

My cousin got married back in July 2016. The reception was at microbrewery in Allentown, but the actual wedding was back home in Bucks County (an hour away from Allentown). A huge car show I had not missed since 2009 was the day after the wedding, and there was nothing going on the next day so my cousin gave me her blessing that I could go to the car show. After the wedding, I rode with a bunch of the adults who drove back to my parents' house, and I packed my bag, hopped in my Tacoma, and headed up to Allentown. The drive went great. I valet parked my Tacoma at the hotel, checked into my room (paid for by my parents ), and walked up the street to Fegley's Allentown Brew Works. It was an open bar, and I sampled the 5 or so house beers they had. My favorite was the "Blueberry Belcher," and I lost count of how many of those I had that night. I also did a shot with some cousins from California, and then there was an after-party following the reception. My cousin, her new husband, and all of the family and friends under 30 ended up at the bar in the hotel where my parents and I were staying. I was already hammered by the time we got to the bar, but we had even more there. I probably had two more beers and then did at least one more shot with the two cousins from California.

I somehow made it back to my room at about 2am, but not before taking a wrong turn and ending up in a part of the hotel that was closed for renovations. During this time I dropped one of the key cards to my room (I had a spare) and I was too drunk to fumble around on the floor for it. When I got back to my room it was about 2am and I immediately fell back onto the bed. I don't remember passing out, but I must have because the next time I looked at the alarm clock it was about 4am. Still pretty much drunk, I took my suit off and fell back asleep. Next morning I woke up about 95% sober and without a hangover, got my Tacoma out of valet, and drove over an hour back home where I picked up a friend and then went to the car show...

The only visible damage I caused was back in 2012 when I stupidly put my bicycle in the bed with the handle bar hanging out and the brake handle scratched the paint. I was guilty then, but then the drunk driver hit me in 2015 and I got a whole new fender.

Ironically, the only two actual dents in my truck were caused by my dad.

The last couple posts are snapshots of the stories, because they're long stories lol. These 2 are a buddy of mine that got so shit faced around 1pm on our annual backpacking trip that he shit himself in the rental vehicle, so I made him get out. He stripped down and ran off into the woods so I burned his clothes. We then made him eat an entire onion in exchange for our silence. We lied. ps that Nalgene bottle is full of tequila.

Proof that you meet the coolest people in dive bars...

Highest-mileage original clutch I've ever seen (well I saw the truck it belonged to, NOT the actual clutch LOL) was on a 1987 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe regular cab long bed 2WD with 305K miles, owned by an older man who worked as a carpenter. He was NOT the original owner. The engine was the original 5.0L/305cid V8, mated to the original 4-speed manual (technically a 3-speed with granny low/creeper gear), and it had the original clutch!
