My dad rocks... When I was between the ages of 9 and 11, my dad had a 1990 Mazda B2600 pickup with a 5-speed. He would let me shift from the passenger seat. He would tell me what gear to shift into, and then he would hit the clutch and I would shift. Pretty soon I figured out the shift pattern and he didn't have to tell me the number. I've know what a stick shift was since I was about 3. With the exception of the 1990 Camry, every vehicle my parents had before 1993 was stick, and sadly the only 2 after that were the aforementioned 1990 Mazda and a 2003 Honda S2000.

I'm guessing you did not get your deposit back?

Also, I've had one "significant" hangover, but I can proudly say I've never puked or shit from being drunk. Last September, I passed out once (at the bar where I work; I was obviously not working at the time) after a flight of tequila (6 shots or so), 5 or 6 beers, and a car bomb. Luckily, like I said I work there. Everybody including the bouncers LOVES me, and that was the first time anything like that ever happened to me. One of the bouncers escorted me up to a bench in front of the bar and sat there with me while I called an Uber. My Uber came and I made it home same. When I asked if I'd been a problem in their opinion, all of the bouncers tell me that if more drunks were like me, they might very well be out of the job. Guess that's a good thing!

Also, that's the first and last time I ever truly passed out from drinking. Never been kicked out, cut off, or involved in a fight...

Anybody ever hear of one of these?

    http://www.livestrong.com/article/423412-does-the-rom-exercise-machine-work/

Just read the article to find out more. Most notable is that a ROM costs like $15K. About 3 or 4 years woman with a YouTube channel about health and fitness made a very good video about what a rip off these things are, then encouraged viewers to comment on how fifteen grand could be better spent.

I watched the video and then made a comment. My comment was that my daily driver was (and still is) a 2010 Toyota Tacoma (after trading in a used Pathfinder and negotiating the price down), the final sales price on my brand new truck was about $14,900. I have a membership a gym. My reasoning was that I used my $15K truck to drive to the gym 3 or 4 days a week. I forget what the woman said in response, but she loved my comment!

This is a compliment to TW and the people who run it, but sad for society in general. I now feel that a truck enthusiast forum is a better way to make my voice heard than traditional media...

Not only that, but in special education the parents can be another issue. Without going into detail, there are definitely cases where teachers need to tread lightly because the reactions of certain parents could actually end up being in the worst interest of their kid.

I don't teach, but do work in a K-12 environment. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely things that I strongly disagree with the average teacher on. But in situations like this where they have 100 things that could go badly wrong, I can absolutely understand their perspective.

Growing up with me inspired my cousin to become a school psychologist. Do not even get her started on dealing with parents! Ironically, I'm typically the one she vents do when we manage to find time for a beer together!

You can't just post a picture like that and not spill the deets! While you're typing it up I'll try to think of some good ones, which is tough because I'm pretty much drunk all the time so it'll be hard picking the best ones.

Not really. Back when it was still under warranty and I brought it to the dealer for routine maintenance, the service people would always compliment my truck and say it was one of the cleanest they'd ever seen. People still say this to me. To date, my trucks only serious flaws are a few dents and scratches, a really beat-up bed (inside the bed), and a tear of unknown origins on the driver's side of the bench seat. I wash and vacuum twice a month. Just under 71K original miles. FINALLY put intermittent wipers in it last month, and installed a new head unit with a backup camera last September. Everything works, A/C blows ICE COLD, and it runs and drives great. My truck seems to shake a bit more at idle than it did when it was new, but it gets a clean bill of health every time I bring it for routine maintenance.

I DO NOT beat on my truck, I just use it for it's intended purpose, drive it daily, and don't baby it. Of all my closest friends, very few obtained their first vehicles without assistance from their parents.

Hm, I guess I have to start from the beginning. 21st birthday I was raging hard in San Diego. Started drinking at like 8 that morning. Good times:

Anyways I've been on the beach for a sold 6 hours or so and I see a guy skimboarding. (I wanted to bring mine but the people I drove down with insisted there was no room in the car). In my drunk butt hurt I stumbled up to the dude and asked him if I could play too. He happily obliged.

Drop the board, couldn't get on. Mind you I've been skimboarding for about a solid 3 years at the point and felt pretty good riding one, didn't take into consideration that I was always sober when I did.

Anyways, full drunken stumble sprint I drop down on the board and decide to go for a little spin, get flung and watch my leg snap under me while I tumble.

Guy evacuates, friends rush into help as well as the paramedics and life guards and what not. Turned out SD beach patrol was filming there at the time for the festivities. Spent a few hours in the hospital and spent the rest of my birthday puking in the streets from the mix of booze/ painkillers.

On the bright side my 15 minutes of fame was playing the "drunk skimboarder" on the SD Beach Patrol show.

I can't believe I complained about that time I drove over the fresh carcass of a skunk with my windows down the one time...

That's how I feel now, but at the time I'd never ever been stopped by police. I just didn't want to get arrested... Now I find it easier to just not do shit that could attract the attention of police...
