    I finally got base cabinets installed where fridge used to be. I'm on a tight budget. Had a scrap piece of mdf to use temporarily until I know which way to go on countertop.

    I immediately started cooking. 4-1/2' of counter in such a small kitchen is nice.

    Stripping forms yesterday and today , machine is scheduled to arrive Thursday to start infill / backfill

    Pretty happy with how the concrete turned out



    Here you can see the cast in styrofoam for the heated slab edge insulation that will be hidden under the wall framing



    That was tons of fun to strip

    Do you use air entrained concrete? Looking at the concrete it looks like it but I am not sure. What is the psi (or kpa) on the concrete?

    The concrete looks really good and consolidated. Nice work.

    I always use a concrete vibrator , the concrete plant sends it with the truck if you request it

    You would never get the concrete to fully encase the styrofoam casting or the cant strip , plus its only like $50 for the vibrator

    I have an 18V Makita cordless one but it only has a 4' wand so I use that mostly for decorative caps and small castings

    Thats the kind of thing I use it for . Not necessarily countertops but cast caps for stone pillars or walls , basically the same thing though
