I'm in the market for a tonneau cover. It appears that these covers are water resistant. I'm ok with some water getting in but not through the seems. They are so expensive and they have a weak pull cord mechanism. ANY NEW ONED ON GHE MARKET for the 2016's?

I have an Access Vanish tonneau cover that I love. Cost was $273 shipped. Realtruck pricematched Amazon. When it rains, only a single drop of water gets under one of the rails. Doesn't look like anything gets in near the cab or tailgate.
I've heard horror stories of covers more than three or four times the price leaking a lot. Super happy with this cover! Doesn't leak, sits almost flush (1/2" above rails), and pretty seamless to operate. Was a little bit of a pain to install with subpar instructions.

I put a Retrax Pro MX on my 2016 short bed and I couldn't be happier with it. Easy to install, dry as a bone inside and very solid.

Mine has been through a few car washes and heavy Florida rains with barely any leaks just a few drops. I think installation makes a big difference but maybe I just got lucky. I added the gasket at the front of the bed and also in the gaps between the front and sides of the bed. You also have to be careful when installing the rails especially closer to the tailgate where it gets more narrow. I really had to push it up and in to ensure that it was flush. Was a PITA to install but it came out good.

Mine leaks mostly on both sides, I tried adjusting it but no success. I've had other access covers with no problems but my Access Vanish cover is crap. I just don't put anything under it now that can't get wet.

I like my Bakflip G2. I have a second gen. Strong material, no leaks at the seams, low profile look, and can fold all the way up to the back window for full open bed access (while driving). Minimal drips in the very front when it rains heavy in Seattle, but keeps my stuff dry.

Yeah, the front seems to be ok. But when I wash my truck by hand water seems to seep through by the rails. It does look great on the truck though. I must of gotten a bad one lol

I have the same cover and the only seals I put on were the tailgate seals to keep dust out of the bed. I was sad to see daylight at all 4 corners so I just threw up my hands and left it as it is. Looks good on the truck and gives the birds something to sh!t on.

Could you give me an idea about how the rails attach to the bed? Are you still able to move your cleats?

See below. There's two L-brackets for each side that mount the tonneau cover rails to the OEM rails. Super easy. Some covers require moving the OEM rails down 1-2 inches. These just mount to them. I painted mine black so they blend in. You can still use the bed cleats but you have to get them in place before mounting the tonneau cover rails because you can't turn the cleats 90deg to install/remove them. You can still loosen them and slide them back and forth until you get to the L-brackets of course. You can't install additional cleats or remove the ones in-place unless you remove the tonneau rails. Hopefully that makes sense. They make tonneau covers where you can install/remove cleats freely but they sit a lot higher on the truck bed which I personally don't like. I love the low profile - ness of this Access Vanish. I've had it a month or so and am still super happy with it. Let me know if you have any other questions!
