I will check the spacers and put them in tomorrow, and see how they fit. :fingerscrossed: Really hoping that it doesn't have any effect on the seal of the injector.

We did a compression. dry test for cyl one was 130. cyl 2 was 180. cyl3 was 180. cyl 4 was 120. I pickled cyl 1 and 4 with atf. Turning the engine 5 puffs to work in the fluid, and re test compression on cyl 1 and 4. Wet test on cyl 1 was 90. west test on cyl 4 was 240.

My question is does this indicate bad piston rings or possibly a bad head gasket which is more likely?

As already suggested check valve adjustment.

So I am in over my head now. I almost got the engine down to the valves but am not sure how to measure them or where really to go from there.
I am thinking on just hiring a mobile mechanic to see if he cant finish the rest.
So I need him to finish checking the valves, then check pistions and rings, then timing? I did the compression checks and dont know where to go from the numbers. Is it looking like needing a new head gasket job from the numbers?

thanks all especialy for all the patience with me.

Valve adjustment on this motor isn't as simple as it is on a 22r series motor.

With that little amount of miles and coupled with the compression test numbers and previous suspect head gasket job, I'd lean towards a new head gasket.

Yeah that's what i was thinking. I ended up having taken it to the machine shop and shaving the heads and buying a kit and having it installed by a craigslist mechanic which i now think was a big mistake. now it still wont start SIGH. I am taking it to a real shop here in the next few days.

Wish I would of seen this when you first started. The 2.7 is a trooper, but can get some pesky CELs. When you get a CEL that has a list of possible issues, I found it best to just take it to a true mechanic with a live data reader, and who has probably seen the issue before. The mechanic fee is way better than the money you'll throw at random parts, or the possibility of getting over your head.

I had a code pop, and ran through the gauntlet of possibly issues. I replaced all kinds of parts listed as possible issues. Only for it to be a bad fuel pump, which I don't believe was on the list of possibilities. The mechanic had it for 10mins. Checked fuel pressure from the pump immediately and called me before I made it home. Good luck in the fix. Once they get everything back together, I'm sure they'll find the issue pretty easily.
