I love Box Rockets old truck and found an old pic yesterday of a bumper rebuild that he did. (See pic below) I reached out to him but no reply back yet. I'm picking up materials today, building tomorrow and I'm wondering if anyone knows the size of square bar he used and diameter of tube? Maybe 2"×5"???IMG_0949_zps7c99e921.jpg

Really tough to guestimate from a chair, you could probably measure that height and approximate it. Looks like 2x6 or maybe 2x8 square tube, 2" dia tube

You could take this picture combined with other pictures and measure distances on the truck like the bottom of the sheetmetal to the bottom of the brake light housing and use that to determine scale.

Also @Fernando might be able to help.

I think that's his old bumper build you're mentioning. That bumper sticks way out compared to the one I pictured above

Doesn't look to me that the pictured bumper will protect much of anything, what with being practically even with the tailgate, but... :notsure:

Way more protection than just a roll pan. Glad I didn't go that route like I was planning on doing. Very pleased with how mine turned out! My older brother sure knows how to weld! Didn't get a chance to bend the DOM tubes for the sides yet. No acess to the bender today. 20170218_172928.jpg

Sorry this is a little late, this is his exact words on a forum from him on rme4x4 “ I used some 3x5 rec tube for the main section, cut in a receiver and added some 2" tubing around the corners for a little bed protection.”
