Hiya all!! Haven't been here for a month, as the on the new job I actually have to work...
Enjoying it though. We just got through a cold spell, with temps going down to the low 60's, even went down to about 58 a couple of nights, and I'm loving it. Weather guy here says we got the best weather on the planet, and I have to agree, even if we did have some bad wind last week. Had gusts up to 60 mph, and a nice rainstorm that cancelled my golf on Sat. You guys can have your snow.

Finally snow again here in N Kalifornia. Upstream of Lake Oroville aways. I think it was 50 or there abouts one day last weekend. Daffodils are poking out of the ground. Feels like Spring, or at least it did yesterday. Back on hold today.

Good luck on the fishing Gary, when we can get on the river at this time of the year it's a bonus. Usually we would be ice fishing on local lakes and not even be able to access the river because of snow or ice at the launches.
Was just looking, supposed to be 65deg. on Thurs.----record high 71deg. and record low 2deg. for that date, normally in the 30deg. range.
Winter ain't over yet though, it can still get ugly! :fingerscrossed:

Just got done helping fillet about 90 white perch, yellow perch, and a few walleyes, that my fishing buddy Jim and his BIL caught through the ice on their last trip to Oneida Lake NY. His BIL has a fish fry and he invites me to it, so figured I would give them a hand, took 1 1/2 hours for the 3 of us to get the job done.
I had helped them out one time before when they came back with a mess of fish. They can get the job done, but an extra hand is welcome and cuts the time it would take the two of them to process that many fish by quite a bit.
When's the fish fry!!! :hungry:

Somewhat embarrassed to report I only caught 3 speckled trout (spotted sea trout) in about 3 hours fishing today. Felt good to get back out on the water though.

Carl, some locals here refer to Crappie as White Perch although I suspect the fish you help clean today were another species.

Sounds like a great ice fishing trip for your friend Jim and his BIL.

No ice here today with a high of 76.

Three is better than nothing, we made many trips to the river where we only caught 1-3 walleye, same with the local lake.
We have both crappie and white perch locally, the white perch is a different species.
I love fishing for crappies, they aren't overly abundant in our area but two lakes that we do occasionally fish have sizable populations of them and make for a fun day.
