Just a 4 cylinder owner with delusions of grandeur.

I've got all the basic bolt on stuff and want to be able to tune it to get the most out of what I have now. I'm constantly drooling over the URD SC kit, so maybe someday in the not too distant future, I'll make it a reality.

Use a multimeter to double check the wiring. When I got my jumper harness, urd had a print out for my year and transmission.

What are these two circled plugs? The 1 for the afr module looks like i can just straight wire all that but i dunno about the other

Your cellphone screenshot is too small to see what exactly you're trying to point out. If you're talking about the 6-pin connectors at the AFR module, I think that's just an extra connector that whoever made the wiring diagram used so they didn't have to wire the module directly to the harness.

You could use something like this (https://www.amazon.com/Headers-Hous...370&sr=8-2&keywords=molex+6+pin+connector+kit) to do the same thing if you wanted to.

I don't know what the 2-pin connector is. That's a wiring diagram for a mapecu2, and there are wiring differences between the mapecu2 and mapecu3. It may just be something that is specific to the mapecu2 that you don't need to worry about, but I don't know.

    @Torspd @justrynarip

Do either of you have any pictures where where/how you mounted your MAPECU? I haven't ripped into my dash yet to see where looks like a good spot but figured I would see what you guys (or anyone else with a mapecu) did.

I'm thinking industrial grade velcro for the actual mounting.

I used the velcro, like you stated, and mounted it up and behind the kick panel.

The heat from summer days was my only problem. *edit* Melted adhesive, causing the Map-Ecu to slide down the velcro.

I had originally had it in the glovebox, but when I would close it, it would pinch the vacuum hose.

Thanks. I'm getting my truck back from the body shop tomorrow, so maybe I'll get the chance to tear things open and take a look at mounting possibilities.

I pulled the glove box and passenger kick panel this morning after I got my truck back home. Damn it's tight in there with the AC blower, ecm, and everything else. There's a black box next to the ecm, and it looks there's plenty of room to velcro the mapecu3 and AFR module to the side of it.

@Torspd What do you mean by the summer heat was a problem? Did you have issues with your mapecu2 overheating and malfunctioning? I went through the first dozen or so pages of your build thread and saw that a channel burned out on your mapecu2, which lead you to change tuning systems.

I meant that the heat caused the adhesive of the velcro to "melt".

Is that the fuel cut defeat voltage?
Or is Throttle voltage only a setting for 2nd Gen Tacomas?
    I plan on installing a MAPECU3 in a 2001 Tacoma with 5vz

I believe the way the advance works is, if you want 10degrees of advance it will delay the signal by 350 degrees which would be the equivalent of advancing it 10 degrees/360 total degrees.
