I ended up purchasing some mounting brackets from FR for the light bar and moved the wind deflector back one slat. There is just enough under there to mount a 40" single row light bar. The wind deflector is still doing its job and the light bar is solidly mounted. I'll take a picture for you tomorrow.

Think Front Runner would do a custom size to fit a long bed cap? :fingerscrossed:

I misspoke when I said I moved the wind deflector back one slat. I did not. It is in its intended location. The reason why I did not use the mounting tabs provided by Rigid Industries was because it did not leave enough room for the wind deflector.

The FR mounting brackets are adjustable and allowed me to mount the light bar more forward so that it is not directly under the rack. As you can see in one of the pictures, the rear of the light bar is very close to the center of the wind deflector. There is also approximately an inch of room between the bottom of the light bar and the truck's roof.

The FR light bar bracket were pretty pricey. It is intended to work with their 40" light bar but it also works with the Rigid Industries SR light bar. The brackets themselves are not listed on their website-I contacted Bryan directly to buy them. The FR brackets also come with a fold-down rock shield, which I wanted to use to hide the light bar when not in use but due to the curvature of the Tacoma's roof, the rock shield would hit the center of my roof when open so I ditched the rock shield.

Let me know if you have any other questions or need additional pics.

How did you run the power wire for the lightbar?

Right down the side of my windshield. There's a channel there and the wire tucks in perfectly.

Cool, I've been trying to figure a way to do that without drilling any extra holes in the truck.

No holes needed. It tucks into the channel quite nicely and down into the engine bay. I used a mesh type heat shrink covering on the wire to protect them from UV rays.

Yes, I would avoid doing that. The wind deflector does a phenomenal job. I have heard that the noise generated by the rack without the wind deflector is quite intense and vibrates like crazy.

I would contact Bryan at FR to see if he'll sell you the mounting brackets on their own without the rock shield. It maybe cheaper than what I paid.

I removed my defector and replaced it with a lightbar. No noise.

Pretty cool looking light bar you have there. KC? Are you still running the individual roof rack light pods on the driver's side?

Never ran the individual pods. Think you got me mixed up.

I've always just had this light bar. It is a morimoto 40" from theretrofitsource.com

    I like it!
