so since you all fine folks are buying the bumper, do you guys have a "guy" to install it and how much is he/she charging you? i was told that the bumper will take about 5 hours and 1 hour for the lights. i got the baja lights. i was quoted about $500 for the install; but this will also include the pro grill, rigid fog lights, winch. i'm in Norther VA area.

 

Thanks, I just pulled up the sites and looked at the lines of them all again. Its been months since i've looked at the C4 or SOS because I knew I was getting the SSO a long time ago. Since seeing you quote me I realized I miss typed the weight of the SSO saying it was 5lbs not 55lbs , this has been edited!

I have a guy who is charging me $0. Hes painting it also for the cost of paint. That guy is me! Its my truck I have no problem getting my own hands dirty working on it. Then I'm the only one to blame if I f*ck it up. Same reason NOBODY drives my truck besides me.

As for the light bar, I already have a light bar installed in the bumper so the wiring is already done for that. Hopefully its just going to be plug and play. I'll have to remove the existing light bar to install the bumper and I am fully ready to splice into my existing wiring so I dont have to rerun the wiring through the fire wall.

 

I have a guy that's $75 an hour BUT I will do what I can to prep & keep the cost down.

 

I reviewed the installation guide and I'm going to try to do it myself. Not so mechanically inclined, but same philosophy as @SuperBad...I can only blame myself if I mess it up. Heck maybe we can have an install party in DFW once they come in.

 

Sounds good to me. Did you go to the DFW meet up at shannon brewery today? The install looks pretty simple. The cutting doesnt look difficult just nerve racking on a 6mo old truck. May need a beer before I start cutting to ease the nerves. I plan on taking my time and possibly taking more try's to cut enough rather than too much. If you cut to little its easy to cut more, you cant add any back if you cut too much!

 

I wasn't able to, but am also not as active as I should be in the DFW thread. Looking forward to the next run up to Bridgeport. Beer? Yes. We'll find some time to get these on after 4-5 long weeks.. Hopefully 2 more orders and we'll have to have another beer to figure out wiring some cube lights as well.

unfortunately, this is not a good month for me =/. i know i know - it kills me too

 

It took me 3 hours and was super easy.

Pop the grill out tape the bumper and cut. Pull off crash bar and recovery hook. Use a jack to lifte new bumper in place bolt on re attach grill.

 

Still working on that ......will post as soon as a decision is made.

 

The bumper will come with the necessary brackets for the SR20 to be flush mounted in the bumper.

 

Yes you can get both the flush mounted light & the parking sensor system. You may want to purchase the winch cover plate to use until you get a winch. You can use the license plate holder without installing a winch.
