I had a 2013 platinum F150 with the 6.2 V8. Down low an ecoboost would pull on me, but above about 50 or so, that 6.2 would walk an ecoboost every time. Of course, I averaged 14 mpg if I drove like a grandpa. 10 if I drove like an idiot. Best I ever got was running down I75 with traffic, and it pulled 16.5 mpg.

Yeah, had it not quite 3 months. Bought it used, and had a lot of trouble with it. Front end grind, tires wearing funny, steering column replaced, headliner started peeling, drivers mirror fell off, and transmission started slipping. I hate having an unreliable vehicle.

Another comparison to a full size. Love it when they have to compare a Taco to a full size.
Never see a post like this with a Ridgeline or Colorado.
If you want a full size, buy it. PERIOD.

I have a 2016 DCSB TRD OR and a 2013 F-150 4x4 with the 5.0, love them both and they both have their purpose in life.

Nimble and Offroad goes to the Toyota.

Towing and comfort goes to the Ford.

They get the same MPG for how I drive, 18-19 mpg average.

Ford will stomp the Toyota all day long when it comes to accelerating but it's an unfair fight. I rarely drive the Toyota because overall I like my Ford more. But here it is at 4 years old with 93k miles on it and the Ford is worth $16k and is still in perfect shape whereas I bet in 4 years the Tacoma of having equivalent mileage would still be worth low-$20k. They sold for the same price new...

A headliner, holes that howl with a 2 cent fix, a harmonic oscillation howl, and a few cps's defective won't stop it from 300K.
Most all of these complaints in here are BS.

My thoughts are.... never buy a used truck let alone a 4 x 4. Used cars and trucks on a dealer lot are brought in by people that really can't sell it privately. Reason being is it has issues bigger than the owner wants to deal with so they trade it in because no one would buy it or it would be to difficult to convince a private party to take said vehicle. Buying a used car or truck usually means buying someone else's problem. On a 4 x 4 it's extremely common for people who don't know how to wheel or are learning how and most likely have abused it and never serviced it. So once traded in and the dealer or mechanic finally lays a wrench on it, you got odds that 1 in 50 may be good mechanics, but they don't swing a magic wrench. So there will always be issues with it... big or small. Just my $.02

I grew up a Ford man. Now they make the ugliest trucks on the road IMO. Fugly as shit. Oh wait the new Titan takes the award for the ugliest truck. UNless you consider the Toyota Tundra step side, they used to make. I laugh everytime I see some one driving one of those. WTF were they thinking with that? Like the new Prius, after a large meal I hope to god I dont see one cause Id hurl in my pretty ass truck.
