Was good to finally meet @Porter707 in person. Big thumbs up to @Cali007 and @DannyBFresco wrenching it up!

And always a pleasure @tacomgee, good to see the truck moving under its own power (and dirtys).

 

Looked there, and Autotrader. Filters on, filters off (since people don't fill out CL fields correctly). Has to be access cab or doublecab. No longbed. Has to be white or red. Also under 150k miles. Couldn't find anything. Also, I'd rather have the 1st gen (for now). The 2nd gens Tundys in our fleet consistently get 15 -16 mpg. Even less for the 2 owner's 4x4 2nd gens. After driving full sized trucks for 10 years at the last company, I'm pretty happy with the size of the 1st gen Tundra. Roughly the same as the Tacoma.

Back to Tacomas...for those with CKMTA12's, where did you mount them? Thought about behind the seat, but too much braaaaaap for a sleeping child. Aired up occasionally during nap time.

PS firewall has a battery in an @Iggy mount. That leaves the Slee mount, but I'm concerned with engine heat.



It could go in the camper, but that would displace the space of something that's potentially very useful. Like a 12v Panini press...

Anyone possibly have a driver front fender flare laying around they aren't using?
Preferably silver sky metallic, but will take any. As long as all the mounting tabs are in good shape

Hmmmm. How trimmed? I'm gonna cut 2" out if it anyway.

Mine has two crucial broken tabs. Gonna try to epoxy it and see if it works, but if it doesn't work I'll have to likely paint someone elses. Maybe yours?

ckma12 is roughly here, behind my bedside mounted to the frame. A simple sheet metal shield would protect it from the tires throwing stuff at it and the elements, as long as it clears the tire that is.


I filled up a f350s tire to 90psi the other day at the gas station, he was super grateful and in awe of my little yota haha.

 

I'm in the same boat. I was actually able to squeeze it between the headlight and battery but wouldn't be able to get to the top of 2 bolts to tighten. So I've been thinking I'm gonna pick up some carriage bolts and give that a try.

 

That's a decent spot. I live in a sleepy town as do you. I'm concerned about the third world countries and Bay Area semi-ghetto spots my rig will go to and want to keep this unit stashed. Also in a semi weatherproof spot. I'm leaning towards the SLEE mount. Their lack of online ordering made this discussion happen.

 

If there was a box that completely covered it nobody would know it was there. Flush mount an air chuck to it and you're golden. easy access, Its in the middle of the truck so an air line will easily reach where you need it!

 

Just drove back home to concord from kernville. Weather wasn't bad. At all. Awesome weekend. And even set a new record for a single tank of gas. Somehow. No idea how it happened. Never got anywhere NEAR this mileage for a single tank haha. Gas light isn't even on yet. Super confused.

 

If I stay off of the throttle and cruise control around 70 the whole way up/down 5 I'll hit 300 a tank and usually see the fuel light right around then. The rest of the time I'm at about 200-250 when the light comes on.
