I actually bought them off of @Tacofire98. He had to weld new 'feet' to the existing rail system. Turned out perfectly.

And I believe they had to cut the seat belt sensor connector of the stock seat and splice it into the Subie seat. NBD.

    They are!

It's a little funny to watch me hoist my 6'2" self up and over the bolster without banging my head on the door frame, though. That's where the oh shit handle comes in handy.

    Damn, I must be!

Hey, I was gonna ask you if you knew of any relatively easy trails between here and where you are. My buddy has a 2nd Gen that he just lifted and put Duratracs on and he was wanting to do a shakedown run.

I don't have shit for recovery gear (yet), and he's just getting started, so something tame would be cool.

    What do you think?

Bunce and MSV is all I'm aware of, they may be closed though.
Kind of a crappy time of year to try and wheel. Most trail are either closed or snowed in.
7-Mile is open. If you and your buddy want to take it up the Poudre, I'll lead you guys on that trail.

Ya all you gotta do is rework the feet a bit, and switch over the seat belt connector. I've honestly gone through 2 more different pairs of seats after those, I'm apparently really picky lol.
I was in the process of doing some xB seats, but discovered they sit too high for me. Sooo I might go look at those subie seats, but I'll give @TacoVio first dibs if he wants.

Firewall Tubbing for 35s - Fender Flares

More progress on the long and winding road that is Making Room for 35s...

After seeing how good @Robmonster117's truck turned out after his tubbing job, I decided that I wanted to steal his idea and trim the flares to work with the new body lines on the fenders and bedsides. But I also wanted to take it a step further. More on that later.

Marking the flares for the fenders was kind of a pain, but I think it paid off in the end. The bedside flares were a piece of cake, since I basically just added 3/4" to the rise. Easy.

    IMG_3566.jpg

    IMG_3570.jpg
Driver side rear flare after trimming.

    IMG_3569.jpg
Driver side oblique shot. Huge improvement over no flares and all of those damn holes.

    IMG_3571.jpg
Getting ready to stuff some tires, annnnnnnnnnnd...

    IMG_3572.jpg
ya gotta pull the coilover to do it right.

    IMG_3573.jpg
Full droop. More than it'll ever see, because if my CO isn't limiting the droop, the uniball cup sure as hell will. Limit straps are in my future.

    IMG_3574.jpg
Full stuff, full lock left. Plenty of clearance to the flare.

    IMG_3575.jpg
Full stuff, full lock right. Looking good this way as well.

All in all, I'm super happy with how the flares look after trimming and mounting. I loved the stupid crazy amount of tire poke that I had without them, but I hated looking at the ragged ass cuts that I made, as well as the damn clip holes. For me, this is much better, and I still have AT LEAST a couple inches of tire poke left past the flares to satisfy the Jeeper in me.

It should be noted that I picked some new (not OEM) red and blue flare clips on Amazon. Time will tell how well they do. For anyone who might be looking to replace theirs on a similar year truck, here is the order, from front to back:
    • FENDER: Blue - Red - Red - Blue - Red - Red
    • BEDSIDE: Red - Blue - Red - Red - Blue - Red - Red

How much did you trim from the rear fenders when you first cut everything?
