I think I'm going to get the Bluetooth one. My factory VW tool is Bluetooth and it's so convenient not to be tethered. Laptop can be wherever.

My Ross-Tech VCDS is wifi which is even better distance-wise and speed-wise. Too bad the Mongoose isn't available with wifi.

USB extension cable is much cheaper, but yes, bluetooth would be much easier. Still have to be within about 20 feet or so. Or at least thats about where my fitbit doesn't connect to my phone anymore.

Something else I've noticed is the one that @o0opackersfano0o has for sale is an older blue version. The ones we are looking at in Tunertools the the green 'Toyota 2' version.

I'm not sure what the difference is, but I've emailed Drewtech and asked.

I vaguely remember reading there was a version 1 and 2, but no idea what the difference is

The one I have for sale is the same model I use every day. The new version is bright green. Same thing. No difference.

Bchncar and dark Vader are out. I think @Biscuits is MIA. So with @bigcrab that makes 3 of us.

I will defer to whoever wants to back out of the GB. @loginfailed indicated he was going to splurge for the BT version, which I don't blame him. Although a USB extension cable would be much cheaper :)

Ok sounds good man. I think if we don't have enough by end of feb to get this GB going, I am going to let it go. I have had it up since December and still only have a couple people. We get a person, and someone else drops out. So unless 10 people can commit by next week...
