see build...but not a whole lot

Is there a reason you did not reinstall the bed rail with tie downs?

I didn't take off the bed rails. The rack and tonneau cover rails are both mounted to the rails. But, the side rails are no longer usable because the bed rack rails cover them completely. That's the primary point of what I'm showing, how I drilled new mounting holes in the tonneau cover rails to match the location of the bed rack rail mounting holes.

I didn't build that rack. I actually got it off someone on Craigslist, who had it built by a local fabricator in Denver.

Looks like it's been about 2 years since I posted how I got this setup to work for me. So, thought I'd share an update. I still run the same setup and have had no issues. I had been using a Softopper prior to this setup and definitely prefer this setup, especially since I now have a rooftop tent that I put on the rack. It's not watertight by any means, but does a good enough job from that perspective.

I did recently install some LED bed lights that activate off of a pin switch at the tailgate, which was a nice addition.

I have the same tonneau cover and I made it water tight by just cutting a piece of pipe insullation and putting it over the back of the truck bed lip to fill the gap before putting on the tonneau. Then where it sits on the bedrails I ran a line of black caulk to seal it....no water getting in now. You could do the same as I am sure since the badrack spaces it off a bit some black caulk ran down it would keep water out....

def going to be getting in contact with ole @EddyRRT to build me one so I can keep the functionality of my tonneau too...Eddy being the swell guy he is I am sure wouldn't mind my request :fingerscrossed::thumbsup::D

Yeah. I did use some RTV black on the sides in the area where the bed rack rail ends. There's a small gap tehre because the bed rack rails are shorter than the tonneau cover rails. It's been on my radar to do the pipe insulation up front, that's where most water gets in, when it does. but, it's not really bothersome to me, so I haven't gotten around to it.

    good luck on the rack!

It’s 2017 - are there any new options for Tonneau cover with bed-rack/lumber rack options?

My ideal system would be tonneau cover strong enough to stand on (tri-fold maybe) and a rack for kayaks and occasional lumber like a TracRac? .

Yep, it's a custom bed rack. One of my better Craigslist finds...

so far everyone here used the access tonneau but I used a tonno pro lo roll but I had to retrofit it so it will work well sort of lol I had to buy door seals strips from autozone and cut it to fill the gap at the end of the tailgate
