For Honor PS4 - Xbox One

Just curious if anyone here is planning on picking up For Honor for the PS4 or Xbox One? Been playing the beta since yesterday and it's actually a lot of fun. I "think" it's going to have a single player campaign but it seems unremarkable from what I've heard. I don't play it for the single player game anyway. All I really care about is multiplayer.

The clip below is by far my favorite game mode. I've been playing Nobushi and she is one of the hardest characters in the game to play but so far the most fun. She's more of a stick and run character but can hold her own if played correctly. I like her because she is the fastest character and can cover the entire battlefield and pick off players one on one. Going up against a heavy armor character is a challenge (you will see) since it only takes three hits to bring her down. She's meant to be a nuisance on the battlefield and inflict "bleeds" on the enemy. There's a subtle way that she controls that I like instead of just charging headlong into battle and not seeing anything but the person in front of you.

 

Nice! I thought about trying out the beta but figure I'd wait until the game is out. Still haven't bought it but heard great things about it. Currently still playing Overwatch.

Is the videoclip you provided yours? From my understanding there's multiple game modes. The video you provided looks like a more technical version of dynasty warrior game style. I assume the characters without the health bar over them is a.i.?

If you purchased the full game already - what's your review on it?

 

Yes the video gameplay is mine. And that was PvP. 4 players per side with soldiers (no health bars) fighting in the middle to push the mid control point. You have to kill those soldiers to advance your soldiers up to take that point. It's a lot of fun. The combat has a lot of combos that you must learn and master to be competitive but it isn't too hard once you get the hang of it. I just ranked up to rep 1 with better gear now I'm wrecking fools in that game mode at the moment until the other catch up with me. It came out yesterday (actually Mon night) and I've got almost 24hrs invested so far.

 

Well worth picking up as the customization is unlimited in what you can do.

I saw that PSN is having a sale on final Fantasy games and thought about getting the latest one. Times like this makes me miss Hollywood Video/Blockbuster where I can rent games Redbox is too expensive for a single day rental.

The thing I really like about it is it isn't just a hack and slash game. There is a lot of strategy behind each move that you do and it makes you pick the best time to attack, counter, and defend. The game mode in that video was me playing Dominion (which is the hardest mode and stats matter). You have to decide on how you approach the battlefield and have good battlefield awareness. Never get caught out by yourself as 2v1 battles are very hard to win and 4v1... well... you're dead. Sometimes the best approach is to just run lol. Duels are a lot of fun and stats don't matter. It's just you and one other person. The best player lives. It's funny with duels though. A "good game" (you can send quick texts with pre made texts) goes a long way. As long as you stay in that game mode you keep playing the same person (assuming they don't leave). After a while you strike up a conversation with them and I've made a bunch of friends that way. It's a lot of fun.

If you get the game you will feel like you are just mashing buttons until you learn how the game plays. Once you do you will be a beast.

 

All day today one of my buddy kept saying randomly 'dude, you need to get it man' haha this weekend when I have some time I'll drop by gamestop to see if I can find a used one..save myself $5 -_-

 

I'm sure someone will have turned it in by then once they realize you can not just button mash and expect to live lol.

I actually did. I very rarely buy digital games after I got fucked on The Division. Fuck that shitty game! I swore after that I'd never buy another digital game. But I took a chance and luckily, this one is worth it.

 

In case I don't like it I can try to resell it to get some $ back.

 

So here is how duels work. Stats don't matter and it's just your skill against the other player. Whoever plays the map and the other player wins.

 

So what faction did everyone pick? I'm choosing between Vikings and Knights

 

I would choose Knights personally. Vikings don't seem to hold a lot of territory in the faction war and the Knights (so far) have been holding the most territory. At the end of the season you get rewards for who holds the most. It doesn't matter what character you play just what faction you choose.

 

How to dominate in Dominion. The key to this game mode is battlefield awareness and not getting caught outnumbered. Before you engage take a look around and pick someone that is either alone or is already fighting someone.
