Thanks for the input! I was looking at that mount as well. Looks pretty solid.

Thanks, man! It's working well, too. Calico is full of technical trails. The last time I'd been up there was with my totally stock '09. It was pretty cool to find that this truck could tackle so many technical trails and not want for anything. Well, the truck probably wants a better driver, but...

Ordered, thanks for the heads up. I had just ordered a bf-f8hp that I cancelled. Also ordered an sma to bnc connector, and a better quality diamond brand bnc antenna. I compromised by going with an 8 inch as it gets good reviews and will be less cumbersome as the recommended 16+ inch nagoya. Plan to use with a bnc mag mount rooftop antenna and the bnc platform will make it easier to swap antennae when getting in and out of my truck.. a simple 1/4 turn rather than unscrewing the radio.

What's the advantage to a RTT over a traditional ground tent?

I've never tried to negotiate a ladder when I'm half asleep and trying to take a pee in the middle of the night. That could be a disaster.

I got stung by a scorpion in a ground tent...needless to say I'm not sleeping on the ground anymore. Also, half asleep ladder navigating is chill. Just stick one foot out til you find it lol
