Soo I have a set of 5100s on my Tacoma set to 2.5" right now and the truck rides much stiffer than it did pre-lift. I'm wondering if dropping the setting to 0" and replacing the stock coils with eibach (2.5") will make the ride better or worse? I run a stock bumper.

You're preloading your shocks to the max at 2.5". Replacing your coils and getting to ideal shock load will definitely be an improvement.

X2 I have 5100's with the Eibach 112620 coils at 0 I got 1.5" lift so bumped to .85 setting and eneded up with 2.5". The struts and coils were second hand when I got them but in great shape. I have no ides if that's why I had to bump to .85. They ride and handle better than stock by far. Good luck

Petey idk what tires your trying to run or anything but with this setup I have Coopers in 255/80/17's and an aluminum front bumper. Adding the bumper didn't drop the front at all and truck rides great.

I wonder if this is worse with the TRD's progressive coils? I have a spacer and mine rides like a wagon! I hear others don't have as much of an issue. I'm thinking linear springs wouldn't be as harsh when preloaded. Maybe the preload compresses the TRD spring into the higher spring rate zone?

I have mine set up the same and the ride is pretty close to the stock feel

I put the wheeler's 3 leaf progressive in the rear that may have helped some also with the ride

sounds like our trucks have a lot in common. I have wheelers 3 leaf AAL in the back and I'm running hankook ATMs 255/75/17. I still have the stock bumper but I was referring to the added weight of a steel bumper, aluminums don't weight too much so I wouldn't imagine they would effect the front end height

I just had the Eibach 112620 installed today at 1.6 inch on my 5100s along with the Icon mini leaf pack. My truck felt way better driving home, the Eibachs felt great hitting train tracks, potholes. I haven't had a chance to go offroad yet. I definitely like the way the Eibachs feel.

I'm running 265 70 17, 8.5 inch rim -10 offset, very minimal rubbing, removing stock mudflaps on the list of things to do.

Hey so I'm trying to setup my 620# with 5100s I bought them used from a member here and have a question.

The 5100s are currently set at 0 and I'm going to move them to .85

I brought them to a local shop that has a bench/wall mounted spring compressor. I told the guy I want to move the 5100s up one clip and he was trying and said "there's too much preload already"

It's set at 0! How can it have too much preload.....?

He was saying his spring compressor might not be able to do it.

    Thoughts?

My thoughts are this guy is an idiot. I loaded my stock coils all the way up to 2.5 using a shitty coil compressor from autozone with no problems. Granted a 620# coil will give much more resistance then the stock coils will, there should be absolutely no issues here

That's what I thought. Maybe he just wanted to take longer to do it...
    He got it done tho
