Honestly I cant see the court wanting a young guy to be a deciding choice in a legal matter

Whatever you do just DO NOT ask for clarification to any questions. Act like you've made up your mind heavily.

 

A lot of retired people actually report to jury duty without a summons just to have something to do for a week or two. If I was retired and didn't have something going on I would as well.

For the selection process, anything you say to get off the hook with the defense will make the prosecution want you, and vice versa. On my trial there was a Messikan woman trying to pull the "no speak English"... yeah, until the judge reminded her that since she got a summons she was a legal citizen which means she took the test in English. She shut up real quick, me on the other hand, well I was hunched over LMAO at the schooling she just got.

Lucky for me my Dad's one of those old folks who knows what to say to get out of it and taught me some things

Curious when being a full time student stopped getting you out of jury duty, it used to

 

Last time I got called in was probably 6 years ago (maybe more), I was a full time student and they didn't care...I still had to show up. Once they started selecting jurors though they let me go when I told them I was a full-time student because that particular case was looking to go on for 6+ weeks.

I still had to sit there all day waiting for them to call on me, but yeah...depending on how long the case is expected to go for they will likely let you go if you're a full time student. Unless it's a short case, then I dunno.
