You're not stupid. It's what will make you happy. I bought an auto on purpose. I wanted something I could drive with a broken foot or leg or hand or arm. Also, autos are a bit easier to drive off road and didn't want to deal with dual transfer case etc. I miss the hell out of a manual transmission but overall I'm happy I have an auto. Like I said the moto give me my shifting fix.

I just ordered my SCS Stealth 6 wheels last night so I will be selling my current wheels really soon. Just want to put them up for sale now! Asking TW price of $300 for all 4 without tire pressure sensors. My stock sensors worked with them. Ultra Phantom 225 16x8 10mm offset. I cant remember the backspacing but they have clearance for gusseted spindles w/o the sway bar. No pictures of them off the truck yet!

Do you break things that often that this was actually a factor in what you're of transmission you bought?

Pretty much, yeah. A few years ago I broke the 5th metacarpal in my left hand in 4 places so I couldn't drive. I also had 9 facial fractures including upper jaw (teeth didn't line up), zygotomaxillary complex (cheekbone seperation...moved it down 2cm and rotated a few degrees) and multiple orbital bone fractures.

I've also broken both bones in my left arm just above my wrist, my right collar bone, left shoulder has been dislocated 3 or 4 times, several fingers...all at once too, and hair line fracture of my pelvis, fractured skull, 2 broken ribs, contusion and hematoma of the left testicle (I strongly advise against this one, this would have made driving stick impossible too).

I do activities where things get broken.

Anyway, it really sucked having to have someone drive me around. I had double vision from the orbital fracture for a while so couldn't drive too well even if I had an auto.
