    Hi all,

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a full OME BP-51 kit for my 2014 DCSB. For those with this setup, can you please share hub to fender measurements, and include info about changing the front C/O preload if done, and how much weight you may have added to your rig?

I know this has been discussed in other threads about the BP-51, I've read through the 20+ pages in some of them, but I think it would be helpful to have it consolidated in one place, as more of us may consider installing this kit. I'm hoping to mimic OzT's Dakar ride height thread and similar.

(Mods, if this belongs in the suspension forum please feel free to move, but more interested in 2nd gen data specifically)

    Thanks all!

    Aren't they fully adjustable?

Ride height can be any amount from 0-3" and in fractions of inches therein.

Agreed, sorry I should be more specific. I'm looking for both front and rear heights, as some folks are getting close to 4" rear upon install. Also, the fronts come adjusted for 2" lift with bull bar and winch per ARB specs, but I'm unsure as to whether that means 2nd or 3rd gen, as again some people are getting 4" in front or close to it as well.

So really I'm looking for data around how much front height people end up with in relation to keeping OME factory preload or changing it, which could be measured by length of threads showing.

Without adjusting the preload I got around 3 inches up front. I have no aftermarket bumper. The rear is lifted by the Dakar springs and gets 2 and a half, or whatever the average is in @OZ-T 's thread. I thought I got more initially but I guess just measured wrong or things settled....

Thanks guys! Definitely appreciate all the info so far. Anyone opting to remove any leaf from the Dakar pack if not running some constant load in the bed?

@yeos the thread you provided a link to is perfect, thanks!

I went with the Wheeler's Off-Road AAL instead of Dakar leaf pack. Here are the measurements from my OME 885/Bilstein 5100 lift:

Here are the measurements I took of specific areas of my truck before and after my upgrades.

Before: 2014 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road with BFG 265/70 R16 tires
After: Bilstein 5100's front/rear, OME 885 springs front, Wheeler's 1/4 driver side spacer, JBA UCA (not that it matters), Wheeler's 1.5" add-a-leaf in the rear, Cooper S/T Maxx 265/75 R16 tires.

Front driver side ground to fender:
    • Before: 34"
    • After: 37.5" (so much for the driver side lean)

Front driver side center of hub to fender:
    • Before: 20"
    • After: 22.5"

Front passenger side ground to fender:
    • Before: 34.25"
    • After: 38"

Front passenger side center of hub to fender:
    • Before: 20.5"
    • After: 23.5"

Rear driver side ground to fender:
    • Before: 35"
    • After: 37.25"

Rear driver side center of hub to fender:
    • Before: 21"
    • After: 22.25"

Rear passenger side ground to fender:
    • Before: 35"
    • After: 37.5"

Rear passenger side center of hub to fender:
    • Before: 21"
    • After: 22.5"

    Lower front skid plate:
    • Before: 9"
    • After: 12"
