    For what it's worth, I snapped a Currie 4340 CV axle while locked up front on an ARB without damaging the differential or CV ends.

    Not quite sure how that all worked out, but thankful that it did. It was -20F out, that may have made the exposed axle weaker than usual.

    Don't see many shafts snap, mine have always been the outer cv joint

    I had a lot less issues after installing limit straps and welding onto my steering stops to limit the steering angle. It seems to me that the material is too thin, the torque usually busts a piece off the outer cup and drops the ball bearings. No issues with inner joint or shafts themselves so far.

    Those are the main reasons. I need to make a steering stop for my lcas before my next big trip.

    I know they have had a lot of problems in the past with their shafts. Most of them just bent though

    They bend then they break. They end up bending then the cyclic loading cause a fatigue failure.

    Wonder if it has to do with the compound angle of the shaft by them moving the lower forward from stock.

    If the kit wasn't strapped it let the shaft hit the edge of the inner cv housing and would cause it to bend at that point.
