No reasons, just that TRD OR and manuals aren't included

That's weird because that's not what the TSB says.

Got my new leaf springs today per the TSB. It seems better. I'll drive it for a few days to know for sure.

Sigh, I had service check for the TSB and they couldn't reproduce. Now I'm carefully looking and feeling for it and I too am not sure if it's there or worth the effort to fight them. Possibly around 20mph while decelerating it's as if driving over a very thin rumble strip. At this point I'm not sure I would have noticed if I hadn't read these postings.

The TSB says they are supposed to measure the angle of something, so no need to reproduce.

This whole thing is f'd up. I have an offroad manual and my vibration is getting worse One service guys said they couldn't reporduce it. The second service guy said he knows about it but the TSB does not pertain to my truck so they can't fix it or even look for it. Not sure how Toyota can admit a problem but not apply the fix to that problem to all affected trucks.

I took my truck in for its 20k today and mentioned I had vibration when slowing, etc... I intentionally didn't mention I knew about a TSB. The tech drove it and felt the same thing. They are ordering the parts tomorrow to perform the TSB next week. The service adviser also mention the TSB will not completely eliminate the vibration, only reduce it significantly.

Fix update: I have a 2016 Off road double cab manual transmission. I do have the vibration when decelerating from about 25 mph to 15 mph. I first took my truck in to the dealer because of this and of course they came back that they could not replicate it. Second time I took it back to the same dealer for the transmission pin repair and brought the vibration up again but this time mentioning the tsb. When I picked the truck up the advisor said yes there is a tsb but does not apply to the manual transmission cars and they currently don't have a fix for the manuals. Not sure that's accurate but ok. So next day I called the Toyota 800 number and was assigned a case number and Toyota said they would look into it. Hour later I got a call from the dealer service manger and he stated Toyota notified them and to bring in the truck. This was Wednesday last week and the appointment was on Saturday. The Toyota advisor assigned to my case has called me each day to just check how everything is going. Took the truck in on Saturday went for a ride with the shop foreman and they acknowledged the vibration and they would look into it. They gave me a 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium for a loaner and sent me off. The advisor called later Saturday and said they wanted to call Toyota Engineering on Monday morning to talk with them about the problem. Monday got a call from the case manger at Toyota just telling me she was in contact with the dealer and they were working with engineering on a fix. She called back today Tuesday and mentioned they were going to go ahead and approve the TSB and get it done to the truck to see if it will mask or fix the problem. Got a call from the dealer advisor this evening and he stated the TSB does not have parts available for a manual transmission, again not sure if this is BS or the manual has different parts, so they couldn't do that but Toyota Engineering is telling them that the entire driveline needs to be replaced. The advisor said it would take a couple months estimated from Toyota to get a new driveline from parts so Toyota approved them to pull a new truck from inventory and pull that trucks driveline and replace it in my truck. They would begin working on this when they can locate the truck from inventory and get it started. So not sure if this is a fix yet, not sure what this will mean to my truck but have to say so far I think Toyota and the dealer at least now is being very responsive to the issue. Not sure if calling Toyota lit some fires but have to assume so. Ill keep you all posted. At least my loaner is decent... Now have to worry that the dealer knows what the hell they are doing when replacing such a part. We will see.

I was finally able to find a dealer that would perform the TSB on my TRD offroad. I will say that this eliminated the problem i was having entirely. Those of you that have an OR that fits in the VIN range, be persistent and try different dealers if possible. This dealer didn't say anything about my truck not being included in the TSB. I got a tech to ride with me to verify my problem, the parts were ordered, and the parts were installed yesterday. Good luck to the rest of yall that are having trouble getting this done.

Got My DCSB TRD offroad manual back after 10 days in for repair, See whole story on post #313. They replaced the driveline and added a steering wheel damper. Took it for about a 5 mile drive back to the office when I picked it up and the problem seems worse now. Maybe this actually does have something to do with the leaf springs? The original TSB was replacing the leaf packs and those that had that done seem to say the vibration is gone. I would still like to get this all fixed, Otherwise its getting traded in on the TRD PRO 4runner I have on order. Gotta say I had a 4Runner Trail Premium for a loaner the past ten days, Maybe i just got spoiled.

So I had new leaf springs and the steering damper installed as part of this repair on Wednesday. The vibration that occurred between 25-15mph when slowing is nearly 100% gone. If I hadn't had the problem before and wasn't searching for it now I am sure I would not notice anything. Also feel that that the clunking that occurred during slowing and downshifting is also greatly reduced though I'll need some more drive time to quantify how reduced it is.

Going to the service department is a patronizing circle jerk but I am happy with the results.

    That sucks man.

So they performed the TSB without replacing the leafs? So anyone know if manuals and TRDORs have different leafs then other Tacos?
