I've got some on order that should be here by the end of next week. If you're in the area let me know - I'm not going to complain if I get everything setup earlier.

So who has been listening to chatter or conversations on their HAM when they drive around? I have just to become familiar with how the process is conducted over the airwaves. I picked up stubbie dual band antenna for my NMO mount just to clean up the signal around town since I cannot run my real antenna on the roof and fit in the garage. The Tram antenna will go on for adventures.

Are you just driving around and scanning?
Edit: I just hopped in the rig to try everything out and did just that. Picked up a bunch of old guys discussing emergency preparedness and what they got for Christmas. It's amazing how much better the mag mount setup makes this little handheld!

I still haven't ordered my gear yet, but what are you guys using to mount the radio in your trucks? I do have a Techdeck, but wanted to see what types of mounts you guys were using before I order something up.

Just found this thread. I'm an Extra class (ACØVH), happy to help if anyone needs something.

I organize an on-again, off-again event for the Rising Sun called the Ham and Eggs Run. It's a pre-Cruise Moab radio install and tune-up for people who's CB or ham radios need attention.

For the face I just have a Panavise bracket into the dash. The radio body is under the passenger seat. Still working on a good place for the speaker and ideally I'd like to move the face somewhere less obtrusive. But it works for the time being.

I've been studying for the technician test using the ham test prep app on the google play store. Recently I have been passing the practice tests pretty much every time but on the main screen it says I've only mastered 57% of the question pool. Am I ready to take the test or should I keep studying until I've mastered a bigger portion of the question pool?

I was doing the practice tests on the plane home yesterday as well. It shows there are like 450 questions in the pool. I was going to keep practicing until I got through all of them. But that's just me.

The one I used never provided that detail, @ebbs15 & I took it same time and both thought there were 2-3 questions we had never seen before. Once I was consistently in 80% I slowed down my "studying"
