Let's see what everyone's towing with their Tacomas? I use mine to tow my 1988, Carrera Elite jet boat.

Should I point out the obvious problem here?

Also... jet boats are SLOW. Takes a lot more power to get the same thrust as you get with an outboard.

But, he will never worry about chewing up a prop or have to worry about the issues of salt water and corrosion! Different strokes! :)

Sure, but could you imagine how fast that thing would go with an outboard with equal horsepower? It would rip the skin off your face.

But you would miss out on all that 454 V8 Rumble. That is the point of boats like this.

Awesomeness. Great looking boat man. Brings back memories. Growing up my dad had a Glastron Carlson cv-23 with a 460 and Berkley jet drive. He regrets selling it but I guess me and my sister were expensive to raise? I actually had the chance to get one for free but it was a basket case, needed engine and tons of interior work. Jet drive was there though, should of just taken it for that, they are getting hard to find and big money.

All I tow is a boring 6x10 trailer full of firewood.

    Um, what?
First off... hit solid object with propeller and you chew up a propeller. Hit solid object with jet boat and you destroy the boat.
Second, CAR engines are definitely much less suited for salt water (assuming that you boat IN salt water) than a good quality outboard motor, which is *DESIGNED* for salt water.
So if you want to worry about salt water and corrosion... well, you have much bigger problems with a jet boat than an outboard.

It does take more power but ive never been in a SLOW jet boat. My dad would buy one every couple years when i was growing up and rebuild it and then sale it. I can remember at least 5 very clearly (cause i was older) and not any of them were slow by any means.
