It wouldn't be so bad if you "muh self defense" people weren't always coming off as itching to shoot someone. I am all for having guns, but the majority of you people have a serious case of the "make my day"'s.

    Sir,
Have you ever had someone look you dead in the eye and tell you that they were going to kill you knowing full well they were completely serious? Or how about a convicted felon write you a death note saying they were only serving a few years and when they get out they were going to kill you and your family. I wish I could say I could count that on one or even two hands.

Better yet, when was the last time you watched the news? How many violent crimes did they show. Car jackings, armed robberies, sexual assaults, gang violence, night club shootings etc? The "muh self defense people" as you called us are not itching to kill someone, but are trying to train ourselves to be prepared (physically & mentally) God Forbid we, or our family's, ever are in that situation.

Now everyone has an opinion and comfort level on how they feel is the best method of trying to protect themselves. To include carrying a concealed firearm. To judge another's opinion/methodology without truly knowing them and trying to understand where they are coming from is in my opinion wrong. You sir, have your own opinion on what you feel is right in regards to what someone does to try and protect themselves; which is perfectly fine. But just because someone's opinion may differ than yours doesn't mean the majority of the "self defense people" are wrong or specifically itching to shoot someone or have a serious case of make my day.

How's the retention strength on that? I'd hate to make a collision worse by having a Glock flying around in addition to anything else I didn't properly secure.

Same here. I would think on the passenger side of the console might be better for me. Still within reach, but easier to grip. Less chance of knocking it off, especially if driving alone most of the time.
Cool mod though if it works for you.

Exactly my thought and why I don't like it. Unsecured shit becomes a missile when you get in a wreck.

    Sir,

First of all I'm not interested in getting into a pointless Internet war with you, therefore this will be my last post in regards to this issue.

My point in my last post is that you don't know me (or self defense people) and where I've been before judging me/someone on how they feel is the best way THEY feel on how to defend themselves.

But so you can know a little more about me and my experiences. For over the last decade I've worked in a Correctional Institution trying to keep the general public safe and ensure some really not nice people are following our rules and regulations. Throughout my tenure I've had more instances than I wish to count to where I've had to stand in front of a highly upset & violent person telling them they weren't going to do whatever they were doing at the time. Some resulting into very serious confrontations. As I said earlier, I've even received a death threat written specifically for me and my family because I held one of them accountable for their actions.

Now with that said, I chose my profession and I enjoy what I do. The best part of my job is working alongside my brothers and sisters as we stand together to do a job the best we can and to keep everyone safe at the same time. And I'll never turn my back on my brothers and sisters!

Regardless if you are for having guns or not, my point is judging someone or a group of people without really understanding why they do what they do is wrong. Again, just because a group of people choose to carry a firearm or even how they choose to carry it doesn't necessarily mean they are just itching to shoot someone or have a serious case of the make my days as you originally stated.

Now my guess (based on my experiences carrying a firearm) what the OP was thinking with securing his firearm there was based on having a desire to have a quicker access to his firearm if that carjacking or self defense situation ever comes their way. Now to know that for sure, it would a good idea to ask the OP on their rationale for placing it where they did. Instead of judging them by saying they are just itching to shoot someone.

I love these magnets (different brand from Amazon). I have them scattered throughout the house. Great behind and under things. My only reason for not using this in the truck is it not being secure enough in case of an accident. For now, I just shove it in one of those seat/center catch pockets on the passenger side. Not ideal and will hopefully come up with something different this weekend.

Local Amish saddlemaker built me a set of hump bags. I designed them, he built them. 2 big pouches, 2 small pouches, 2 mag pouches. Magnetic closure sticks to my gearshift to hold open or closed. Out the door in 1 hour. Cost me $25.

    (16) “Readily accessible for immediate use” means that a firearm or other weapon is carried on the person or within such close proximity and in such a manner that it can be retrieved and used as easily and quickly as if carried on the person.
    (17) “Securely encased” means in a glove compartment, whether or not locked; snapped in a holster; in a gun case, whether or not locked; in a zippered gun case; or in a closed box or container which requires a lid or cover to be opened for access.

Even with a CCW it must be kept out of sight. All of my ccw holsters are super comfortable so I see no need for this for me, plus not worth the legal risk. Neat idea for in the house though.

Nice setup but my concern would be the possible traffic stop. CCW in Minnesota means concealed.

Varies by states, but generally, rifle/gun can be transported in a vehicle without a CCW if it is unloaded and in the trunk or inside a locked container (not in the utility/glove compartment).
