    All,

I am looking at a 2008 Prerunner. It appears to be a debadged TRD OR as it has the button for the RR Diff Lock. Which is what I am after.

My question is, shouldn't the dash have a few more buttons? RSCA Off? Traction control off?

Or; if I understand correctly those features were 2009+ and in 2008 Mechanical LSD was an option?

I think those were 2009 and up options. The mechanical LSD was only on the TRD Sport. The OR got the locking diff as you already know.

Didn't all non-Sport Prerunners before 2009 have a locking diff? Check for other Off-Road features as well.

    TRD Off-Road Package (OC):
    l SR5 Package #2
    l Off-road tuned suspension with Bilstein® shocks
    l 16-in. alloy wheels with P265/70R16 BFGoodrich® Rugged Trail T/A tires
    l Locking rear differential
l Engine skid plate and fuel tank protector
    l Front tow hook
    l 115V/400-watt deck-mounted power outlet
l Multi-function overhead console with compass and temperature gauge
l Sport seats with sport fabric and driver's lumbar support
    l TRD Off-Road graphics (V6 models only)

Looks like it's got the front skid plate/tow hook and power outlet. Thanks fullas! Looks legit, just debadged. Which imo is not a bad thing.

Wait, you're saying your truck has the switch in place on the dash but doesn't have the mechanism in the rear end?

    Why would they do that?

Is the locking diff a real electronic locking diff, or is an open diff with traction contol..ie when one wheel starts spinning, the Anti-lock brakes will hit that spinning wheel and make the other wheel spin too?

Yea, looks like it's a TRD OR. Chrome rear bumper, bed outlet, TRD wheels, and diff locker.
Either it was debadged or was wrecked and they didn't put the decal back on the bed. Either way, good find if they aren't trying to charge a bunch more for the TRD package.

^Neg. TRD OR was available in 4x2 - all the TRD OR features but without the 4x4 drivetrain.

2008 and earlier didn't have RSCA (curtain airbags) or traction control...

The pre-runner does have the TRD OR option, it's still a 2X4, not a 4x4. Same applies to the TRD Sport option, it's a 2x4.
