    What year truck, what radio?

And I know you didn't ask, but you'd get more bang for the buck just changing speakers, versus putting a good signal into the shitty stock speakers.

(Not sure if you're still wondering about this, or figured it all out, but...)

Yup, those harnesses will be able to pick up speaker signals from your non-jbl HU and send them to your amp, then to the sub.

If you have crappy headliner speakers in the rear, then it's no loss to steal this signal for the sub. If you have nice rear speakers, you'll have to figure out what you want to drive them with.

The harnesses won't mess with the steering controls at all.

Not sure what ********* kit you're referring to, but I assume it's something where they're doing the cutting/patching for you. That part isn't hard -- it's just like a paint by numbers.

WAAY late, but that blue remote turn on wire should go to the yellow wire (switched accessory).

No, the yellow wire is the 12v constant wire that keeps the memory on the head unit. If he hooked it up to that it would be telling the amp to turn on all the time.

How are you liking the Kicker RT slim subs 5 months later?

I was considering a pair of JL 10tw3's but at $300 per sub I can't justify it.

I love them. I have them in the absolute smallest box they can be in with poly fill in the boxes and they his so much lower than I ever thought they would with that little airspace. Super happy with them and I run them pretty damn hard with no issues. I had a jl 12w6 in my car before this setup and even though I was used to such a large amount of bass from that sub I'm still super happy with the kicker subs. I would recommend them to anyone.

X2, I love my Kicker Comp RT12.. More than enough bass in a small package.

Thanks for the feedback. I ended being able to get two JL 10TW-3s for $510 total. After debating back and forth I decided to spend the extra $160 over the 10" Kicker RT's. I got an Alpine PDX-V9 amplifier to power everything. Going to re-use my Rainbow tweeters and Hertz mids. I took them out of my car a year ago to sell them but I'll just use them for the Tacoma install.

Do your seats fit back on or do you have to leave them off?

Everything went back in, I just took that pic to show the box off. I did have to leave the plastic off the back of the seats because they hit on the speakers but that wasn't a big deal to me.

Ok thanks, I do not know a lot about car audio but I want to install subwoofers in my truck. Should I just take it into a local shop or do the research my self and get what I really need ?

If you had a local shop do what I did you will spend a fortune in labor.

That's a good point I think I might just do as much research as possible and do it myself. The problem is I don't want to go takin the seats and carpet and radio out of my brand new truck. I am just scared I will screw something up that I won't be able to fix. But anyways thanks for the help

Well you won't be able to avoid taking the truck apart if you want to install subs.
