Have you guys ever noticed black streaks on your cars? It's as if the rubber seals around the windows migrates down the side after it rains. I would think that it would migrate into the top coat after a while.

iv'e been using my local Pink Elephant touchless lately ....but when I do hand wash i have been using Optimum or Surf City car wash. What I have really liked lately is Adams H20 guard and gloss. After truck is washed , wipe the Adams on when wet , and then dry . This stuff repels water awesome and gives a great shine

This is what I use for car soap, but I haven't bought any wax yet.

Works good, the key is to use a quality microfiber towel to apply it and another one to dry it off. All you need is about 1 gallon of water (~1oz of Optimum) to completely wash the truck, wash and dry small sections at a time. Very little spillage so can do it inside a garage without creating a mess.

Still have not found anything that outperforms Zaino Show Car Polish. Use their Car Wash in between polishes and have never had a bad result.

Were still talking about a daily driver here that gets wash 2 or 3 times a month, and only take all of 3 minutes to apply on the whole truck....

First use this (way faster than using clay ) and will get the max results from using any kind of car wax:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZPQ41GI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Make our own spray lubricant, a few drops of dish soap in a water spray bottle.

When using the mitt on the car, rinse it out a few times with just water.

Then use this....I have been for years....out performs any other wax/polish I have used before....stands up to the heat and humidity of Texas gulf coast. For max results re-apply every 5 months at least to the hood and roof. You can go 6-8 months on the sides of the truck.
    Doesn't stain black plastic.
Also beats out RainX when used on windows.
And when applying you only need a thin coat.
    Stuff is wicked, ridiculous!
When removing/buffing out wax, use a micr-fiber cloth....easy off, less effort.

Demo, though he is using a clay bar:

Those surface prep towels work great! Be careful recommending them to beginners though because they swirl up the paint very easily and im thinking a beginner wont have the knowledge and or tools to do the actual correction afterwards. But yes, a clean fresh surface os the best foundation for whatever LSP (was, sealant, coating etc) you personally choose to use.

Been using the yellow meguiars wash n wax and I like the results. I finish all my washed up with a spray detailer to remove water spots and other stuff left behind, and then a spray wax. Both the black bottled meguiars premium.

For the once or twice a year sealants, I use a stripper wash, or dish soap if I'm broke. I then do a rubbing alcohol wipe down. I use my nanoskin clay mitt with the lubricating wash, rinse and wipe the truck down again, and then apply a liberal amount of ChemGuys jet seal. I then follow up with collinite insulator wax..

I can't even put a rag on the hood when I'm done, it literally falls off. Dust and dirt blows off when I drive... Lasts the better part of 12 months.

I've been using Mothers California Gold car wash for years. I find it works well to clean the vehicle and it smells great.

    Whole bunch of shit! $$$
Pressure washer with a medium flow nozzle at 2800 psi....then a thick coat of fluid film when it dries, I do this twice a year , after winter, and before winter with fluid film because of the salt and brine on the roads in South Western PA. Hopefully this truck lasts me for my grandson to take his driving test in.

I use some chemical guys products they're good nothing extraordinary but they work well. I use collonite wax and I use the meguires clay bar. As far as polishes and compounds I use meguires and chemical guys pads.

Only thing I'm trying to find is a good degreeser that's reasonably priced I use dr. Mecanico which used to be wonderful but it's no longer what it used to be now.
