I'm working on my suspension and the driver side UCA had no pin in the castle nut... I think they used some sort of JB Weld on it... first it got rounded and now it has been mostly cut off but refuses to budge. Any ideas?1488071997407.jpg

I have all new UCAs, I just need to keep the spindle in functional condition.

I'm working on the taper of the ball joint right now... hopefully this does it. Thank you!

I cut the ball joint and it still won't come out. 1488073523627.jpg

I may end up having to take the whole spindle off and find a hydraulic press to get this thing off.1488077671348.jpg

Your pressing the wrong way, the taper is \/ , but that clamp isn't going to take it out you need to grind the bottom where the nut was flush/clean and hammer it out

This wasn't the best move either, shoulda left that there and cut the nut side flush and pop the spindle with a ball peen hammer and it woulda popped right off but you'll still get it out.

I had no idea the taper was the opposite direction
I will probably pull the whole spindle so I have more room to work, maybe I'll get better tools than a hack saw and a dremel.

Grind it smooth with a flap disk, heat it up with a torch, then give it a good whack from the bottom with a punch & hammer.

Of those tools, I own a hammer. Looks like I'll be in for a Harbor Freight run tomorrow.

    HF list:

    Angle grinder
    Flap disk, possibly 2
    Torch
    Punch

Or if you're broke AF, post up your location and I'm sure someone has some for you to borrow. Or buy the angle grinder at HD and then return after you use it..... isn't ethical, but it works in a pinch.
