Your truck, do it. But cut it so you can easily throw it back on.

You are an idiot. Nice job losing torque on the truck.

    This is not a diesel.

    Sounds like complete crap.

At least throw a $50 thrush in there or something. The muffler delete is a bad sound imo.

I have a side dump exhaust with a bargain bin muffler on my 3.0 v6 ranger and it's actually a pretty great sound. I think our 3.5 could be decent. Don't have to spend a grand on a pre-bent catback.

Its something I might do eventually. Stock it just sounds gutless.

I'd rather hear the death rattle of my only child over a v6 with an aftermarket exhaust. Keep it factory.

Do not delete your muffler, by doing so you WILL burn your valves. And that would be a 10 - $15,000 mistake unless you want a 10 to $15,000 paperweight

You won't burn valves if it's still running through a tailpipe, if your dumping straight out of the manifolds...maybe.

wow. You know whats up. The VQ has always sounded good to me. My friend had a G35 and he would always get drunk so I got to rip gears in that thing. Great motor.

Plus with as deep as the computers are integrated into the operation of the engine, I'd image the truck would run like shit due to emission settings.

I have nothing against loud exhaust (every car I've owned has had aftermarket exhaust), but I've never heard a Tacoma with an aftermarket exhaust that sounded good. Back when I was shopping for my 2G, the TRD exhaust was one of the reasons I excluded the TX and TX Pro models (this was before the Baja was announced) simply because it sounded like a battered GM V-6 exhaust note.

If you wanted a "visceral driving experience", a pickup isn't the right vehicle for you.
