Anyone on here own any quads or maybe owned some previously? I'm looking at getting into one and looking for some insight.

Went for a ride out to sheep bridge today. Got back a little bit ago. Real good trip. Neat place. Had fun.
    Learned a lesson.
What is that lesson you ask?
    NEVER listen to Brian.
Brian said you could make it out there in a car. The only car I saw out there was a Subaru. Not exactly a car like I think of a car. When I think car, I think of my work car. 2003 Buick Century. NO WAY would I ever try to make it out there in that.

I would just spray some PB blaster or liquid wrench on it and let it penetrate over night. Probably won't need heat if he does that.

I'm in Tucson. Busy building a shop in my carport tomorrow but I may be able to help out a bit depending on time. I've atleast got a grinder. Lol. Got map gas and acetylene torches too.

@02YotaGuy what time you gonna get back at tomorrow and which part of town are you in?

I wouldn't pay over 2k for it even its extremely clean. I'll also say I'm not a fan of sportier 450s unless your purely riding the dunes or track. I loved my 450 in Glamis but it was horrendous on trails/washes due to the stiffer suspension, low ground clearance and higher reving short stroke. My raptor was amazing everywhere I road it and had torque for days. With that said I'd look for deals on the older 660 raptors or maybe a bombardier ds650 but it all depends where and how your gonna ride.
Sorry to wander but not a bad deal:thumbsup:

50/50 mixture of acetone and transmission fluid in a small dispenser (I use a harbor freight plastic squeeze bottle). Pour some on it and hammer away

Thanks for the advice man. It will be mainly for the dunes but maybe an occasional trail run. I will look into the ones you mentioned.

You won't hate it for the occasional desert ride but that is why I sold my 450. Good luck dude!

I got one. Industrial strength. Leave it running for 30 mins with the windows rolled up for 20 mins and then with the vents running with recirc enabled for 10 for a total of 30 mins and then air out.

It will leave a leave an ozone smell until it is fully aired out

I'm headed back to NC in the morning but return on Friday afternoon if you want to borrow it.

I'll probably get started as soon as I wake up, which may not be until 10 or 11. This one nut is the only thing holding me up, I would have been done in a few hours if it had gone smoothly. The old strut assembly is out, sway bar is deleted and the 5100/887 combo is ready to go on.
