@Pittrider, does it really gives more hp, fuel economy?

Lol... you're going to get a lot of BS answers in this thread. This would've been a really good thing to search for. To save you time, here's a very lengthy review/discussion. I'm all for the TRD intake and believe it's worth it. Enjoy the read...

Not worth the money in my opinion. One member posted he got a 2 hp gain with the TRD intake and exhaust combo... not worth 700+ bucks!

It is a very nice review.. but unfortunately there's no dyno numbers. I wish there was. Just opinions.

Think. Exactly how much horsepower can you get from an air intake? Let's get real here folks.

I agree. It is all just opinions. I don't believe there is a huge hp gain nor did I ever expect one. However, as someone who has installed it, my truck accclerates a bit better and throttle response is improved. I also like the new sound signature. To me it was worth the cost (mid $300) I paid for it.

I'm also not sure where this $700+ price is coming from either. You can get this kit for around $380 online. Maybe even cheaper elsewhere. It retails for under $600 from the dealer. I think it's around $550 or so.

Sorry, I was saying 700 for the intake and exhaust combo.

In combination cia and the TRD exhaust is what costs 700.
    300 trd cia
    400 trd exhaust
700 total. Equaled 2 extra hp
    All clear?

Gotcha. If my TRD Pro didn't come with the TRD cat back, I would've eventually just opted for a new magnaflow muffler. Much cheaper and probably similar results. An aftermarket intake still would have been on the docket for me. Either TRD or AFE.

It depends. It looks great when you open the hood. The car is a little bit noisier under load. I didn't notice better mpg or power.

Complete and utter waste of money. To think we used to laugh at the Honda Civic guys cause CAI's only gave them a proven 5 hp for $80-$120. Tacoma shmucks are paying $400 for a brand name....

I did it purely for aesthetics. Not power increase however the truck does feel better with it, Its not mind blowing just more peppy then before and anything helps with this engine. This truck has the lowest hp/weight ratio I've had in any of my cars for the last 12 years or so and I'm just glad it helped however much it did and I'm not going to cry about spending a few hundred bucks on an intake after dropping $40k+ on the truck itself.

Hi Jacado, could you please tell me where I could find a 3rd gen TRD exhaust for $400? Genuine question as I would buy one at that price. Thanks.
