Oh and I'm definitely not saying the RAV4 is worst in class. It wasn't a bad drive at all. Between the highway issues we discovered on the test drive and the high financing we eliminated it from our decision, that's all. We ended up with a 2.0 L Ecoboost Ford Escape SE Sport.

The worst test drive we had was with the Rogue. My wife loved the look of it but it felt seriously underpowered..

    Rav 4 0-60 times, 8.1 seconds.

He must have been sleeping, or maybe checking emails or texts.

I think that is what pisses most off, the MPG is not much different between the 2.

Yup...I get ya man....there is very little diff between my 1st gen Tacoma and second gen Tundra. They say the ford gets 22...I have a friend who owns one...it gets the same as my Tundra...in the real world. His towing capacity is higher I believe though.

2017 Escape SE is around 6.5 seconds IIRC. The newer 2.0L Ecoboost is a bit more powerful down low then the previous version and the SE is the lightest version that gets that engine.

Awe man, don´t try to bring logic into this. :(
I don´t know what he was doing, but I can tell you it was cool to have my wife drive like that because most of time she is telling me don´t take off so fast from the light. Also, I thought it would make a good story for our buddy smitty.

My wife floors her crossover all the time. The way they design them it's like they are asking for it. Sport modes, torque vectoring AWD, and paddle shifters standard... what else gets those standard lol.

LOL. My wifey looks up from her Facebook if she hears anything over 50dB coming from my exhaust. I try to keep it slow and quiet, that way I don't have to get the look!

Yeah I'm sure the Outback with the turbo is like the Escape. Piles of torque plus AWD attracts trees lol.

Yeah if Toyota would have taken a few of the things that the ZR2 has, I'd of gone back in to buy another one, but why go buy another Taco and have to get it modified to be an two inches wider and two inches taller with wider fenders. When I can just buy the ZR2 already built like that. To be exact it is 3.5 inches wider and 2 inches taller. Comes with wider fenders and rock sliders. Short of the steel bumper, the winch, and lights it is pretty much my old truck with a Diesel option. Why, would I want to start over when I can start more than half the way were I left off and that's not including the things I didn't have like a locking front differential or an anytime rear locking differential in 4hi or 4lo. Just my logic I guess

This makes sense....I get where you are coming from...just wish a chevy could hold its re-sale value.

That is sooo true. Hopefully they limit production on them like for did initially with the Raptor. That would help with the depreciation.

I think its people's perception of reliability....Toyota has built a reputation on that, as well as Subaru. The big three need to start pushing that. Trust me I want the big three to be on top...I just trust Toyota.

Yes, but so does supply and demand. Just like the first year or two that the Raptor came out. Ford didn't "mass" produce it because it didn't expect it sales and demand to be so outrageously high. The Raptor kept having driveshaft issues, but with such few numbers and such a high demand people were still paying premium price for them. Even up until the last SVT model Raptor rolled out in 2014 dealerships were still getting MSRP for them. This year Ford took the Raptor from SVT and started mass production of the Raptor on an assembly line along side the standard F150, this is why they no longer carry the SVT badging. We'll see how this effects their value in the coming years. Also, it looks like Toyota took a few notes from Ford as well, by limiting the production of its Pro series Tacoma. Thus fetching premium price for them.

I like Ford's personally. My other vehicle is a Mountaineer with 4.6. It has almost 150k on the clock. It has its issues but has honestly done everything and more it has been asked to do. When it comes to buying a vehicle reliability is a concern now and should be. We are paying to much for vehicles these days for some of issues were having. I take reliabity with a grain of salt, it depends on how my ability is to repair it as I don't make much, this is why I prefer NA. I learned with Dodge their quality took a step back lol. No vehicle is perfect lol.
