Those dents are stretched metal. Impossible to fix without sculpting some material. Tailgate might be fine but not the big cab dent.

I'm not surprised by this estimate at all. The adjuster probably wrote to repair the cab corner in order to have the shop attempt the repair. The shop will attempt a repair by doing a few pulls. If the sheet metal tears, they'll replace the cab corner, if it comes out, the 10hrs should be plenty. Your adjuster will handle all the negotiations with the shop. It's not really an offer/counter offer situation. The shop will get invoices for part price increases and will have the adjuster come back out to complete a supplement to the original estimate.

I've seen worse looking panels repaired back to perfect condition, hopefully the shop has a good body guy. Usually a complex repair like that cab corner gets assigned to the most experienced Tech at the shop... around my area anyway.

They may not use "bondo" but they are going to have to use some brand of body filler to get it perfect. I good shop will work the sheet metal back to near perfect and use a minimal amount of filler. This type of repair does not crack and isn't noticeable.

When you see cracked bondo/body filler on a vehicle, it means the sheet metal was never properly repaired and they just caked filler to make up for it. Shops that do that crap don't last long.

Update from toyota and progressive today. They have blue printed the truck and its not as bad as originally thought it was. Still will be some time with labor, and toyota added a few things to progressives quote including rubber trim, clips, retainer clips, blah blah blah... also they are going to have to take out most of the interior on the driver side, Headliner, plastic panels, ect. So now it looks like i will get my tuck back on March 17 at the latest they said. But i am getting the cash for the bed cover so that will more than cover the deductible.

Awesome! Looks like it pulled out without tearing the sheet metal. That speaks well for the shop doing the work.

Truck Back in my hands. They did a great job. I do have to rewire my resistors in my tail lights because some how they got disconneced so the LEDs are hyper flashing.. no big deal. But the truck looks great!

I believe my Insurance is in talks with his about it currently. They have the tape and said they dont see my backup lights come on so i never put it in reverse like the owner said i did... so its out of my hands and is between them now.

Very happy. You cant even tell there was any damage, the dealerships body shop did an amazing job. I hate that it took a month for it to be finished but they did take their time.

Im not exactly sure. They have no proof that it was my fault because the video they have shows my truck didnt have reverse lights on when it went backwards. But according to them the machine doesnt go backwards. None of my rates went up and nothing is on my record according to the insurance company. So i would assume theirs.
