WTF? I paid $31500 for my 2015 TRD Sport 4 Door 4x4 with factory tube steps. I can't believe any bank is Lending that much money much less people paying that for a used Taco. I love my truck but that is insane!!!

These trucks are at Piercy Toyota in Milpitas California. I was amazed at their asking prices.

I thought this was BS but just recently around 3000 - 3500 miles my 2.7 has started to drive completely different in a good way. It shifts smoother and responds better.

The 2.7 auto does great on the highway passing, especially with ECT Power engaged. Not as quick as the V6 of course but not as horrible as others make it out to be.

for 27k it must have a few options.

I paid 24,400 for my 16' SR 4x4 AC and it had a couple of options, dealer took off $1,500 because it was a stick, and no one drives a stick in the Bay Area.

Seems like a good deal to me, 3rd gens are much quieter inside than 2nd gens, and the 16+ 2.7 will run circles around the older 2.7. I've been turning 35's no problem with stock gears (Still planning on 4.88's).

According to the 2016 price spreadsheet, all things being even, the v4 to V6 was a $1700 option. Sounds like a good deal to me, but not exceptional.

Not seeing it. When I was shopping the cheapest V-6 4x4 was $5,500 over my SR 2,7 4x4. Looks like building one it's $6,500 more.

Access Cab SR5 is the lowest model that can have the V-6
    [IMG]

SR Double Cab can have the V-6

CA might be the difference. Also, that SR package is rare. Negotiations might also play a part? I'm sure 2017 list is available somewhere

The SR in question is a manual,AC with convenience package. It also has the all weather mats and sill protectors.Sticker price is $27,293.It also has the rear seats, it's not the utility package.Like I said earlier I'm going to try a couple of other dealers. Both an hour or so away from me in different directions.
The other thing is this truck is black.I want red. I did tell him I could go with the black if the deal is right.

This is what I was looking at. Dealer next town over gave me an SR5 for $200 more. Kbb was $12.5k on the trade. Go on last Sunday of the month.

What did you trade in? My local dealer plays this game. If we discount more off sticker, we give less for your trade.

2011 reg cab 4x4. Kbb was 12.5, they gave 14.5, listed for 16k, probably got 15.4. I don't think it was the difference maker. They want to sell new cars

FYI cruise control is a $60 20 minute add on. Super easy

I have, and like very much, a 2017 AC SR MT 4cyl. That said, you basically already have that truck but with the better 4.0.

Gas mileage isn't going to be that significant of a difference between the two...I get like 19 mpg. Most everything else is going to feel substantially similar between the two. The exterior on the 17 is okay but I like the 2012-15 body style better. There's really no issues to speak of with the 3rd gen 4 cyl MT, as that combo has been around for years.

    Personally, I'd keep the 2015.

But. ..if you get a 4cyl, you gotta get a manual.... incidentally mine is the silver convenience package and I paid exactly $100 less than you...

So they gave you $2 thousand more for your trade and took $4000 off the sticker price. That is a good deal. Where was this dealer?

South Carolina. From what everyone says, they charge more in California though

The convenience package should include intermittent wipers as well. Pretty stupid. I saw that as a necessary add on with my previous SR

I'd keep the 13k mile 2015. I think the 5spd auto/4L V6 is the perfect drivetrain for this truck....
